As I'm sure many are aware, the HP Touchpad went on a super fire sale. A 10 inch tablet that was actually pretty good for $100 seemed pretty damn cool. Fire sales have a way to make people want to turn a profit though, thus, the journey has been long and hard. At this point, I have $140 sitting with a company by the name of Lawson Electronix. They've been trying hard to get HP to send them the stock that HP agreed to and that has been paid for, but HP has been giving them the runaround.
At this point, I'm considering picking up a refurbished Nook Color for about $179 that I would then just put a full Android hack onto. 7 inch with a capacitive touchscreen and all that jazz still seems pretty awesome. If anybody has a hacked Nook Color, how does it do with Android apps such as emulators? Anyways, my only problem is that first I would have to cancel the order and wait for the $140 to be refunded into my PayPal. That would still only leave me with about $150 though. Where I would get another $29, I don't know. I have a couple of DS games up for sale in the trading forum, but they're older DS titles and aren't moving too quick.
Would the hacked Nook Color be a better way to go?
Other tablets in that price range are generally pretty terrible, so I want to make sure I'm getting my moneys worth. Of course, the Nook Color normally goes for about $250 and is marketed primarily as an ebook reader, so I suppose it can't go for too much if it wants to sell over a Tablet that can do the same thing and more. Regardless, I'll have to see if I can find specific hardware specs to know what the limits of it may be.
Yeah, difficult stuff.
