Switching to Linux

Ahem, I hate the fact that windows feels the need to constantly tell me I have an update for some stupid anti-virus which blocks nothing but tojans made in the early 2000s

So Im switching to Linux.

So much bashing just for being a little behind on an OS. COMPUTERZ IS SERIOUS BIZNIZZ BR0.
I see no problem with you switching to linux, I don't see why everyone else has to come a hating up a shitstorm.
Btw, Norton antivirus is a good Idea to invest in.

Dude just but a sandwich, eat the sandwich, forget about linux its impossible to use. No one knows what the hell it does anyways. Windows is all anybody needs ever. Why? Because its the perfect OS and only hipster lunatics will tell you that " oooh Windows and IE explorer suck you should get firefox" FireFox and all browsers that aren't IE suck son. SO just stick with Windows and hack some gameboys.

You just ruined your comment. Norton is a shit antivirus, I would rather recommend going without an antivirus than advising Norton.

Also, dude if all you used was Windows XP and nothing more, you are just another whinny child switching over to Linux without any knowledge of what you are getting into. Honestly I suggest actually looking into a good antivirus like Avast! and upgrading to Windows 7 instead of just switching over to Linux.

Ive used Symantec (I forgot how its spelled) and Norton, I haven't tried avast but ill take your advice and give it a try. The update problems are just one of the reasons, I mean I also like using it on my brothers laptop and quite a few rougelikes I have are compiled and built around Linux. And once again, what is so bad about the fact I want to try a new OS? If I want to change it, it shouldnt call for a stream of bullshit from the rest of the community.

You're reason for wanting to switch over is an easily avoidable reasons. You are going to install a whole new operating system just because your Antivirus is annoying. This clearly shows that you know very little about computers and your just jumping over to Linux because you don't want to deal with something like an annoying antivirus. Which is giving the impression that all you going to do is install Linux and treat it like Windows. Not to mention there is no need to make an announcement that you are switching over to Linux, it's unnecessary and only opens you up for the backlash you are getting.

Its the blog section >_>
Half of the crap here doesnt need announcing. And I still dont understand why im getting this back-lashing. Like you said its pointless so whats the point of most of the people in this blog getting pissed about it?

It works both ways mister Catboy.

Also, it says nothing about my knowledge of computers nor how I will use it.

The Linux community does not bake cakes for people, we weed out the weak so we can have the strong.

EDIT: Oh, "i've used" christ I hope you still don't have it.
Get Avast, or Microsoft Security Essentials. Neither suck. Might also want to grab Malwarebytes. That program rocks.
