Switching to Linux

Ahem, I hate the fact that windows feels the need to constantly tell me I have an update for some stupid anti-virus which blocks nothing but tojans made in the early 2000s

So Im switching to Linux.

That's a stupid reason to switch to Linux.

And it's Windows fault you need updates for your antivirus?

XP?

Is that shit in black and white? The fuck year is this now. How about upgrading to an OS that's current.
Or hell, even half-current.

Either change your anti-virus (Avast updates in complete silence if you put gaming mode on) or change your OS or fucking turn automatic updates off.

Like everyone else said it isn't really a reason to switch over to Linux, but I guess you don't really need one. Linux > Windows any day.
Just make sure you don't uninstall Windows though. If you have the hard disk space, have them dual-boot, because while switching over to Linux (or at least Ubuntu) may seem extremely stress-relieving, Ubuntu comes with its own flaws, like the fact that famous companies don't exactly develop stuff for Linux. If you use Photoshop, Flash, (anything from Adobe's creative suite), or 3DSMax, etc. then you're probably going to regret uninstalling Windows, unless you're fine with that VMware garbage.

Good luck.

I got 5 update notifications by avast while in gaming mode...
Anyway WTF SERIOUSLY XP!?
Update to windows 8 in october it's only $40
Linux has 0 applications.

I hate it when Windows kiddies get all "MAN I HATE WINDOWS I'M GONNA DOWNLOAD LINUX CUZ I'M SO COMPUTER LITERATE" and then they download Ubuntu and use it just like they would Windows.

It's your fault that you're still running Windows XP.

7 is waiting.
Hmm, I managed to get hate for not liking windows...
You managed to get hate for being a retard.
You could be running an ancient Mac OS and i'da said the same thing.

Lol, you can't switch to a kernel with no OS
Linux is not a OS, *buntu/debian/arch/fedora is a OS, linux is a kernel -.-
So this post doesn't let me belive you actually switched to linux

Did you have gaming mode set in the preferences, rather than from the menu in the task bar icon? The latter is temporary.

I've had gaming mode set since I installed it on several PCs and it's never bothered me.

Vista really wasn't so bad. I used it for years (came pre-installed on a computer), and I never had an issue. Like, it wasn't the greatest, but it wasn't the worst thing ever either.

Your ignorance amuses me. Windows Vista was bad...when it released. Now after it's had its updates and its service packs Windows Vista is perfectly fine for an OS now. Is it as good as 7? Nope. Is it better than it was on release? Fuck yeah.

Ummm ok... Still, whats wrong with XP?

Personally, I just dont like it because it keeps asking me to update but other then that its a good OS.
