Panic and sheer stupidity are two separate things. If you get into a situation that puts your child at risk... and you just panic so bad you're too stupid to use your keys to unlock your own car, you need to give up your child to someone who can actually protect them.

Also...at 3, why wasn't her son with her, and/or why couldn't her son unlock the door...unless there are new fangled cars I don't know about, you can ALWAYS just pull the lock up for great success.
