Stack Overflow sucks. (RANT)

Here's the story.

I asked a question about a specific type of variable saving (which has since been deleted).

Not to my surprise, nobody gave a helpful answer. Stack Overflow has sucked for quite a while, and I thought I'd take a shot in the dark with seeing if I could get any help.

The only response I got was from a high-reputation user who said "uh, simply read whatever exception is thrown."

Wow, no shiz, eh? Who woulda thought of that?

So, of course, after trial and error, the script finally worked with whatever I had decided to cobble together.

Now, when I have a perfectly reasonable question that has never been answered, guess what?

I'm banned.

Since I deleted an unanswered post which was downvoted by an esteemed member of the SO society, I'm not allowed to ask any other questions.

What am I going to do?

Nothing. I can try and make a second account, but we all know how burner accounts end up. (Dead)

You'd think that if you were using a question and answer site you would be okay with the idea of asking questions, but on stack overflow you can get in trouble for asking the wrong questions. If they're so annoyed by people asking the same questions over and over again, why don't they just compile a searchable FAQ for each board?
Imagine gatekeeping asking questions. If you don't like the question, just ignore it. No one is requiring your attention.

Only good thing I've found on stack overflow (or more accurately, stack exchange but who give a shit? same bullshit different name) was some batch code to convert Windows-formatted paths (e.g. C:\folder\file.bitch) to Linux-formatted paths (e.g. c/folder/file.bitch) so that I could pass the linux-formatted path into msys2 so I could just make a one-click batch script to compile homebrew (works with Wii, DS, and 3DS)

You are not the first one to think that nor the first one to bring it up. SO (and all their other sites like SE) sucks ass big time. they used to be extremly great but it has changed years ago. Its basically only good to search for existing solutions, not for adding new ones. Ive complained about that in their user opinion polls several years ago already and i still do whenever i get the chance.

Thats a video i just saw yesterday.

StackOverflow is only good for lurkers imo. However, there might be an alernative to this website. Maybe Quora.

Yeah, I actually watched that! The mods on there just suck.

IMO Overflow is really the only bad one. Exchange is... ok at times, and Arqade is top tier, but Overflow can suck it.

There is always going to be stupid websites like these, at best you would be wise to leave and never ask for anything on there, if possible search it up on a search engine, Youtube or ask someone who would know that isn't from stack-overflow, also it sucks that you got banned for no good reason, also good job on your two recent blogs.
