So I may get a new job...

At a Gamestop. I had walked into my regular store, and overheard the manager talking about how two people may be about to leave. So as I was buying my game, they asked me if I would like a chance at a job. Needless to say I jumped right on this golden opportunity. I went and finished my errands and went straight home and printed and filled out an application. Went and turned it in, and got an interview straight away. The interviewer was real nice, and knew exactly what he was looking for. I told him everything I did well, and what I knew about video games. I was nervous as all fuck. I think he was looking for people that can work well with customers, and I know I fit that bill perfectly. I know tons about the handheld market, and Nintendo, and he needs someone who keeps track of the handheld scene. If anything, I'll get this job and will prove I can be a useful employee. The store here is in the top 500s of the 4000 stores, so I will at least be busy. ;)

All the best to you. Hope things work out for you.

If they don't call call you, go hassle them for the job. They actually appreciate that.

Thanks, been working at the Wendys next door for awhile now. The problem is, that there are some very bad management decisions going down, and I feel it's time for a new job. They have been very good to me, but my Wendys is going downhill, and I really don't want to be stuck in the middle of a shit storm that I know is on it's way. :/

Nice...

I submitted an application to one that was hiring before...

1 week, no call...
2 weeks, no call, I called them, they said they hadn't looked at any applications yet <_<
3 weeks, no call
4 weeks, no call...I gave up and submitted an application to Shop n Save...

Guess what? Same exact freaking thing. It's like no places want to hire me, even though I fit the criteria...

He said that was a big part of it, but he only hires people that have some prior knowledge of video games. He also said, if you don't know about something, you'll learn... fast.

Call them 3 days after you put in the application and every 2 or 3 days after that. Thats what my dad told me.

Luckily with my job, they called me up asked me if I still needed a job and hired me over the phone. No interview at all or anything lol.
