School Days Come Again

So, I graduated high school on June 15th, 2010. I was happy that I wouldn't have to go to school again for another year as I had decided to put off college for a bit due to something that happened earlier that year.

A few months before I graduated, I had entered a "contest" for a full scholarship to a local technical college. The prizes went as such:

1st - Full Scholarship
2nd + 3rd - Half Scholarship
4th + 5th - Quarter Scholarship
6th-10th - Nothing...

I was entering and I really wanted to get first, as I had no other way of affording college. I did fantastically well on the test portion and I scored higher than most of the staff. I was shooting for the full scholarship until the interview portion... I'm not too great with people and had no way of preparing myself for the questions that they would ask me. Needless to say, I bombed. The interview sent me back to 5th place (apparently people skills matter a lot when working with computers...). Due to my large drop in placing, and the fact that I couldn't afford the school with a quarter scholarship, I decided to take a break from school, get a job, and save for the school next year.

Unfortunately, the school wasn't about to see that happen... I found out just yesterday that I am to be attending the school August 28th of this year, giving me no time to prepare for whatever it is I need to do. This is because I applied for a student loan as part of the contest and it apparently went through (didn't know this either).

I suppose I should be grateful that I'm going to college now rather than later, but the inevitable student loan payments make me a bit wary. Plus, I have no income at the moment, so supplies may not be a possibility. I've talked to my parents about this, but they have nothing useful to say. And if I don't attend, a fine is issued... As of right now, I see no way out of this.
