Retro Review 5 Incoming...HONEST!

What are requirements?
I mean how far back can we do a review? Like PONG and SPACE WAR?
Being RETRO, what is considered the newest console? Dreamcast/N64

Does it have to be about 1 game or can it be a type of game?
Like fighters...DOA vs Virtua Fighter vs "Marvel vs Capcom 2" for example

Can yo.... Well maybe I should ask... is there a list of rules or some template we can access?

Ive seen reviews up to N64 and Dreamcast, anything newer isnt really retro though. And I guess you can do a comparison review, but traditionally the reviews have always focused on one game only. Hadrians the boss when it comes to this though so lets see what he says, you should get started soon though bro, you dont have much time.

I would think DC and N64 is about as new as retro would go

But would OLD vs NEW systems be considered retro news as well?

I dont think I could do any justice in a sort amount of time. But maybe I can contribute something for a future release

Since this is all online - I take it possibly YOUTUBE videos may be ok content?

It goes up to Dreamcast for me though I have nothing against games being included that have a retro feel. Games like Geometry Wars or Wario Land Shake. Games that could have easily been possible pre-1998 at the latest. The earliest...well if someone wants to write up Tennis For Two from 1958 then cool but I kinda don't want anything hugely famous to be reviewed though I do take exceptions from time to time.

It doesn't have to be about one game though this particular thread will have a Donkey Kong Country trilogy write up from Granville, if you wanted to do the fighter thing I'd gladly take it for Aprils edition. I had an idea of comparing first person shooters of the 90's to the ones we've got today, where they were then and how they became now and seeing how different they are not only in graphical terms but in gameplay but sadly I really don't have the time for that.

Well old vs new consoles I kinda wanna stray from, I like the thread to be about getting people into games they either A. May have never heard of or B. May have heard of but kinda forgot to play.

As for Youtube, you mean the instead of a write up? If so then no, believe it or not many people still have dial up (I know at three people here do) and also some don't use computers to read stuff here so I prefer to keep it in print so that its accessible to everyone.

I might do something on the rise and fall of Dreamcast.
