Found a notepad and a pen, two physical items. Grabbed the pen and started jotting down some random thoughts and it quickly dawned on me how horrible my handwriting is.

Disgusting. Back to my digital note on my smartphone.

My handwriting is pretty nice, I just suffer from handwriting schizophrenia (I change style mid-sentence lol)

My handwriting is horrible (as everything I do) and my teachers always had problems trying to read whatever the fuck I wrote.

I prefer my digital documents and notepads.

my handwriting has always been basically barely readable chicken scratch, same goes for art that I do sometimes.

Regarding the prescriptions: Doctors are taught to write in a particular writing style (for their prescriptions) I might be misstating it when I say it is shorthand but it is a specific style they're taught (Latin I think), intended to decrease the desire of disreputables from trying to make false scripts on stolen pads.

This isn't really possible as these are also entered into a special (Fed?) online database after writing, which the pharmacy double-checks to make sure you haven't changed to amounts or drug. All this in addition to the fail-safes printed into the pads themselves these days, same as currency safeguards.

Oh my God! Thanks all for the replies, a lot of funny ones, got more than a chuckles with some. I'm still going to regularly write on paper just to ensure my handwriting has a semblance of legibility.

I quite enjoy the feeling of pencil on paper but I don't use it much anymore. My right handwriting is generally rough, but if I slow it down it's really nice and if I speed it up it's really bad. My left hand is more consistently good but is usually slower than my right
