On human stupidity

Alright, so a while me and my friend Alex were discussing this, so I made a facebook note of it, so I figured it was kinda a blog so I'd just post it here. Another long one from me, so I don't mind if you don't feel like reading it. Anyway, here' the direct facebook article. Oh, and I'm a 17 year old kid writing this, so don't expect much scientific evidence here either.

I have been debating with Alex over what makes humans stupid. We agree there are stupid people out there, and neither of us are exempt from that, yet we still ponder why. The thought of common sense may not exist. Through listening to Alex and being able to be swayed easily I have begun to think of different meanings to why people are stupid. Now, the main thing is environment. Everyone goes through something that shapes their thoughts of the world, and of general knowledge. It would be an interesting experiment to make two people from birth to go through the exact same situations and see how each one reacts. Yet that is completely impossible, since we all think differently, and of course we'd make different movements to shape our environments to our needs. It is how we interpret situations that defines us on how stupid we will turn out. Physical things are easier to see why we wouldn't do something that hurt us. Touch a hot stove, don't do it again. But thoughts are harder to shape since there is no real example telling us how to think, and when thoughts are bad, or stupid. So we continue down the path that leads our mind believing in thoughts that we have found to be correct based on situations we have encountered. It's these thoughts that I have seemed to define as common sense. Using what I believe to be common sense, we either make stupid decisions, or smart decisions based on what our thoughts are based on previous similar situations. Though if the thought has been wrong all along, a stupid decision will be made.
Now this may lead into more things like ignorance. Without an experience, we may be forced to use our common sense (knowledge from other experiences) to solve a new situation. This is where the person's brain is truly put to the test, and more times than not, the result will be just stupid. That's not to say people don't act stupid in situations they're familiar with. People have learned how to act based on their own thoughts, and a lot of the time, that way has become so common that they don't even have to use common sense any more, they just act without thinking (of course that's physically impossible, but they act not based on other experiences.)
And now, i believe that ends my thoughts for this time. Why put it on facebook? Iunno... I'm bored in study hall, might as well do something that seems scientific, or... educational... or something along those lines right? Till next time.

wchillbot has detected multiple stupid errors. Stupid errors = human stupidity? :creep:

I don't know about you but I tend to observe human nature or something like that. I am also 17 and when I play games I always replay some thoughts in my mind what happened in school and how certain people reacted to certain events. Don't really know how to explain. I also like to analyze what kind of person someone is and analyze they way of thinking. And everything you just wrote I find to be true. I don't know what you make of this, but I felt like I need to say this.

tl, dr

In my opinion stupidity is the lack of an analytical thought process, and an aversion to questioning the things one sees in the world around them. Instead of thinking things through to the best of one's ability and coming up with an answer that fits the evidence, stupid people just make a flash assumption and then stick to it, or they just believe what someone else told them without question.

Why are some people like this? Probably because their parents were stupid. Children naturally question everything with their endless curiosity. When told that things are a certain way, they want to know WHY. Intelligent parents join them in this questioning and guide them through the process of looking at the facts and coming up with an answer that fits. Stupid parents just say "because that's the way it is" which discourages questioning, and by extension, thought.

You can buy an external Blu-Ray /DVD/ CD/ SD Card burner/ reader that works with USB. https://www.walmart.com/ip/7-1-Exte...f67f158ddabc1dc363c3721e5a9b772a&gclsrc=3p.ds

@BigOnYa, External CD/DVD burners are alright, but they're not the best in regards to burning DVDs. You end up with errors, regardless if using cheap or good quality media.
