new laptop vs ps3

so yeah my pc is getting pretty(9 years) old and has some bugs here and here but it's still somewhat reliable and works with some weak games at full speed or good ones with some slowdowns (ie: phantasy star universe: ambtion of the illuminus) but i've been thinking about hetting a new one...
but i still want to get decnt console (ps3/ps4(when it comes)/wiiU)
so should i get a new laptop or stick with my old laptop and get a ps3 or a ps4 when it gets released or just get a wiiU
or the final option:screw all of these and get a damn vita!

also: i just got zelda oot 3d :yaynds:

Hmm... Vita is like a mini PS3 to me. You can even bring it out.

Up to you. If you are commonly out (like me), I'll get a more powerful laptop/PC with the Vita. But if you are the 'stay at home' type perhaps maybe a weaker comp with a PS3?

And the Wii U is just like a Wii expansion to lots of people. The 3DS is nothing but another DS iteration to lots of people. That in no way means it is. Believe it or not, the Vita will be its own device with its own merits, its own games, and its own appeal. Just mention this, as you come into every Vita thread saying "It is just a mini PS3 to me."

I honestly can't say here. I would advocate for the PS3, but I'm not a PC gamer and don't know how enjoyable you might find it. If you really like PC gaming, I would suggest an upgrade, but not a laptop. Build a gaming desktop if you actually want to get your moneys worth. Unless portability is a huge determining factor for you, you won't regret going with a nice new desktop. Also, I do mean build. You'll save money, and have a better rig to show for it.

i personally like handhelds so you know i think i'll get a vita anyway since i saved like 200 euro(just 50 euro to go) for it and i won't pay for the laptop/ps3 anyway
the all right i'll get a decent laptop and a vita
besides my best friend will buy a ps3 on the 18 july and pormised he'll let me use the remote play whenever i want

sorry for double post
no i'm not a pc gaming fan,a rather ps2 and psp fan, but i really need a good computer for programming/game making
as for the vita i think he meant it has all the ps3 has but it can be played with on the go, he isn't insulting it

Vita is great, I mean it has almost everything the PS3 features: Internet browser, PSN, motion control built in etc.

It is a worthwhile purchase especially when you're always out.

@Nathan: yeah... but me finding the vita like a mini PS3 is my own opinion. As it is quite a powerhouse for a handheld, great graphics and PSN. different people have different views though, I guess it does have something unique on it's own apart from being (from what I've said), a mini PS3.

He has basically said that it is just a compact PS3 multiple times, which is not true. PSP has PSN, that's nothing special. The PSP has an internet browser. That's just Sony incorporating an idea previously used in their software.

You don't need a high end computer for programming or game making either, provided you aren't planning on entering the realm of 3D in many aspects. Just get whatever matches your personal needs. Nobody can tell you what you want, or what you need.

Maybe my English is bad but, I didn't really meant in my previous posts that it was a compact PS3. but rather LIKE a compact PS3. I should have specified that clearer, sorry about that.

The PS3 has PSN, great games and some other stuff like the browser for instance. Those who don't own one and want a Vita will see that it has features LIKE a PS3. and they can even bring it about! Vita has great games too, that's the most important part. That's what I mean.

actually i am entering the realm of 3d
along with TwiSoul plc. i will develop the sequel of out 2d mmo rpg since the company bought the engine
and i'm part of the team so i need to help

Personally, for what you're describing, just get a PS3. Since you've said you're a fan of the PS2 and aren't much of a PC gamer, you'll love the PS3.

should i wait for the ps4 to see it, or wait until psn gets acessible via cfw ot just insta buy since after buying the stuff i will be broke

Unless you a hardcore gamer, I would suggest the PS3 or the Vita. With a PC you are less likely to play with bitchy little Kids, unlike on the PS3.

bitchy little kids???!!?!?!?
anyway the ps3 has games that interests me but for the pc i son't have games i like my pc can't play (for slowdowns i use mom's computer with only most likely happens in psu aoti or when i'm in a city with 500 players on an mmo)
edit i also heard there is a way to play most games with the remote play, does this work?
does it include powerful games, can the psp handle it?

PC has superior versions of several games (Fallout, oblivion) and a ton more games. They're also cheaper (or free). A good PC is a great thing to have.

PS3's are nice, but i'd honestly pick a better PC. Consoles can't really stack up to PC's, even with cool console exclusives...there are far more PC exclusives.

ok i'll try to get into gaming
play with my friend's ps3 whenever i want (remote play + he lives nearby)

lol@ps4

You have a long wait if you're gonna buy a ps4.(3-8 years that is)

WiiU next year (maybe). Get laptop now then save up for WiiU?

Well if you're gonna use the laptop just for gaming then i'll suggest getting the ps3 instead but if you have other more important uses for a laptop (for school or work) then get the laptop.

i used to go out to the recycling center every couple weeks and look at the crts and other electronics people would drop off. Usually screens were broken or severely scratched from being tossed around. Did find a good one here and there, but never anything like a 1080i widescreen crt.

Is it piracy if it was released for free? Not in my opinion, but I also think it's not piracy if buying it isn't owning it, and it's not piracy if you can't buy it from the original creators anymore.
