New Camera

I'm tired of the camera I have, it was my mom's but she didn't use so I "borrowed" it. But it sucks now, it won't stay charged, picture quality is crap, and it's fat.

Any suggestions on a cheap, good quality camera, for pictures, and maybe video(a lot :P) and do all cameras have sdhc support? Or some... I can't get a lot of money, but I want good quality, and better zoom than 3x. Not a camcorder though, I don't want to lug around a piece of metal at school for the p.p. football game(last years was lol, we lost to 8th grade 48-7(or 6))

Cheap + Quality = no.

Get the Nikon S60 if you MUST have a compact. Otherwise, get the D60, the D90, etc.

I have the SD1000 without the image stabilizer...I love it to death, have taken over 5000 photos with it. Could use a stabilizer for night however...Canon SD1100 IS with a stabilizer will definately meet the mark of picture quality and user experience.

That's a crappppy entry level camera. NO IS = worthless camera.

Also, Canon makes garbage. Nikon FTW.

You are just everywhere aren't ya...

He is looking for an entry level...and believe me the speed and quality of the Canon SD series point-and-shoot exceeds that of a Nikon point-and-shoot in the same price range. Nikon point-and-shoots offer 2 years warranty so you might want to take that into consideration though...in my experience with having Nikon's taken into warranty, most things are covered except water, cracked LCD and dropping. As well as that, the one I recommended was an SD1100 IS that has the image stabilizer...the one I currently own is the SD1000 without the stabilizer and I could desire one.

My Nikon D90 is arriving this week however and I am definately excited about that.

Don't encourage those looking for entry level garbage. The Canon cameras are all crap, Nikon is vastly superior in every way, from user interface to build quality to the quality of the images.

I think you better just visit the store and get a hands on for yourself :P No need to buy...just try to see how each of them feel to you. Sample images can be found everywhere online.

@DrKupo: Man...you're just like Urza but with less of a humorous personality ^_^
Nikon Coolpix S550. :) its the camera i have. go here for some sample pix if you want

Those are some good pictures.

But I want maybe 100-200(I know good cameras arn't that cheap, more like 300+ -_-
But I'm into photography, just something to take on a trip or use for a foot ball game.

go to my youtube channel: http://youtube.com/alexh0686
and look at MY homebrew review by alex(the one that says by alex) and look at the craptasic quality
I donno man...100-200 doesn't even buy you the one I suggested earlier...the one DrKupo said was crap...so I'm not sure...football games and cheap cameras don't go well together unless you want everything looking like a few pixels stacked on each other.

I guess you could get a Nikon P60 for that money...

meh, kodak soundds good now, im not going to pay much ... ... ... ... ... ...
and i dont care about optical zoom either, just enough to not get blurry badly, and a good battery life(or an okay one)

I know kodak isnt good, maybe just for a once in a while camera, but thats what i want.
and for youtube... :D

i dont want no expensive camera, just something better than this crap:

I'll a picture of it in a bit. :P
Canon, Nikon...some Panasonic...

Please don't get Kodak...
That what I have, and I just want nothing fancy, but able to get good pictures

How much are the COOLPIX series, they look the cheapest...(I know, I'm a cheap skate)

Have you even used the s60? The touch screen is fantastic, it operates nice and quickly, and it takes good photos. What's not to like?
