Hello everyone, here for my first post in the blog (yay) I wanted to talk about the New 2DS, yes, this thing:
I say, just, no...
I don't see why Nintendo did this, the 2DS was a cheap and flat Nintendo 3DS without 3D functionality (and everyone knows that nobody use this function more than 20 minutes after buying the console), it was affordable for children that don't have a lot of money.
I have one 2DS (and a 3DS XL, and a New 3DS XL) and I love this, I can take this everywhere and, it do it's job, I love the design, but with the New 2DS XL, well, firstly I thought it was an April fools (really, I even checked the date), but after going to the Ninty website, I saw it, it was just there, the New 2DS XL, it could be the perfect joke, there's even not a New 2DS, it's just an XL version or nothing.
I really hate the design, do you see the lines on the New 3DS XL, on the covers ?
On the New 2DS XL it's there too ! But instead of being a cool and discreet decoration, it's like a truck on your console.
What about colors ?
Yeah, black and blue is a really good combination, I agree, but around the screen, I feel like it's a fragile console, made of cheap plastic, the overall console design look just like a toy for 3 years old babies (maybe it's that).
Let's talk about a second of the position of the Volume Slider:
- On the Old 3DS XL: it's not a good slider, it's on the bottom screen side, and sometimes, when I was just moving my hand, I changed the volume.
- On the New 3DS XL: perfect, it's on the side of the top screen, in symmetry with the 3D slider, just cool
- On the 2DS: really good, if it's not perfect too, same as the New 3DS, on the side of the top screen, and better than the Old 3DS
- On the New 2DS XL: I except it worst than the Old one, on the bottom screen with a big round thing
And now, let's take a look at the price:
- 2DS: 90$
- New 3DS: 160$
- New 3DS XL: 200$ (don't know the exact prices in USA)
- New 2DS XL: 150$
... No, no, now, you can say goodbye to the main argument of the 2DS ...
That can't be possible, I mean, the 2DS was like 60$ less expensive than the New 3DS, and 60$ is a lot, but with the New 2DS XL, that's just 10$ less than a New 3DS. That's pretty much nothing, and with a New 3DS, you get a cool design (I really love the New 3DS's design)
And I don't see why they release a new 3DS model, because the 3DS family has already 5 consoles (DS family has: Original DS, DS Lite, DSi and DSi XL, that's less).
So why Ninty, why did you made a New 2DS XL, I loved the New 3DS when they were released, because they fixed some problems that Old ones had (like design problems, and a better CPU) but I don't know who will buy this, somebody that really hate the New 3DS little screen but can't afford a New 3DS XL maybe ?
That's all for this post, feel free to talk about this in the commentary.
And YES, I really don't know why this thing.
arc13 - really mad about this.
