My journey through the 3DS hacking scene began last year. It was reported the Fire Emblem: Fates had been butchered and not wanting to play a heavily censored version I was in search of a solution. As it so happens I stumbled upon the solution of Sky3DS+ flashcart and Homebrew. Little did I know this dip of my toe into the hacking waters would take me on a much grander journey.
As I became used to using 3DS homebrew I began hearing about custom firmware. At first I was afraid of trying to mod my 3DS further but then as it became more difficult to update Fire Emblem: Fates' translation patch (JPN) using HANS and custom firmware with installable CIAs was a much more efficient method I at last decided to downgrade my system to 9.2 and install RxTools.
I was satisfied for a while but was still sad I couldn't play GBA/Disware games on RxTools. I began to hear about A9HL and Luma3DS but was again fearful of trying it as I thought flashing a o3DS firmware to n3DS would be dangerous. As I found out the benefits of A9HL I began to want it on my 3DS more and more.
Finally hearing about how safe A9HL was now I finally followed the tutorial to install it and I have never been happier with my 3DS. I want to share this happiness with my friends by hacking their 3DSes using my A9HL 3DS. No more censorship, no region restrictions, custom firmware in sysNAND, custom splash screens, custom themes, the ability to unbrick without a hardmod, and even being able to use the full potential of the n3DS. I have never been happier with my 3DS and wanted to share my thoughts on my 3DS hacking journey.
