My depression is killing me

it's taking a toll on my drawing, my self confidence, and myself. I don't know what to do with myself at this point. I thought that getting rid of someone from my life that I think is making me feel bad was going to help but it didn't.

What are you depressed about? If you can't think of a specific reason then you might just have a chemical imbalance in your brain requiring medication to stabilise it.
 
Have you considered actually seeking medical attention? Depression is a medical condition and there are medical treatments that can help.

have you tried any form of physical activity that gets your blood pumping? Going on a morning jog may help, and helps keep you in a routine at getting up at the same time - which helps dramatically.

As someone who has depression, I can say that's not how you treat depression. It does help to get out and get fresh air, ect. But it's not going to treat the underlining problem.
Depression is a medical condition and needs to be treated medically. Seeking the proper medical treatment is the best bet to helping with the problem.

Are you depressed about particular things? If so, tell, and maybe we can help with some advice.
Are you feeling consistently awful on a daily basis and for the life of you can never figure out why? Might be medical. Talk to a medical man/woman/child. Personally, I would never recommend medicating the sad away, but depression can rarely be the symptom of an underlying medical problem, so try and be as transparent as you can with your GP so they can get the fullest and most accurate profile of your condition as possible.

I didn't suggest medication. Medical treatment still includes measures like therapy.

To the OP. This is a gaming forum and more importantly a forum mostly comprised of pirates. We are not doctors nor are we therapists. If you are depressed, we are not the best place to hit up to treat this subject. We can give support and love, that's what a community is for, but we can't treat you. I really suggest starting with either your family doctor or a therapist, they are professionals and will help you.

I didn't say it won't help. Trust me, I still play Pokemon Go because it helps with my depression. But it's still not full treatment.
I am trying to help the OP by suggesting something that will help and what will help is seeking proper medical attention.
 
A therapist can help you get down to what is making you so damn depressed, can offer you ways to combat it, and prescribe you meds to help calm you the fuck down.

I actually wasn't directly addressing anything you said, I just wanted to advise talking to their doctor without coming off like I was suggesting anti-depressants. Looking at your post, we were mostly saying the same thing.

Even so, I wouldn't say medical treatment or therapy is necessary for every case. I suffered from pretty severe depression because I was greatly overweight, but then I fixed that and life is happy rainbow times. I mean, the process of fixing it was an extended, grueling process that was a lot more involved than "just fix it", but long story short I was able to directly correct what made me depressed and that cured my depression without any outside influence. I think the solution needs to come from finding out what causes the depression, whether it be medical or life-related, and addressing that in whatever way is healthiest.
 
I second the physical activity. I get depressed very often, but exercising helps a lot. Some intense cardio can really cheer you up.
 
I would suggest like others have said and as someone who went through a lot of depression including an attempt, to exercise and hangout with friends, in other words; distraction. Often times the depression is over something that doesn't make a whole lot of sense. When your distracted you can reflect more easily on those things and realize that maybe you can look at it in a different light.
 
Can you identify any physical problems that might be stoking your depression, it might be something unexpected that's causing this.

No one is telling you that you are wrong, but you also aren't helping either. Physical activity does help reduce the effects of depression, but it is not the only treatment for it, which is why it's best to seek medical attention to properly treat it.
