My car's delinquent caught

For now 1 year, in my town, there have been delinquents playing a weird game : opening cars.
They open it just for fun, broke and torn apart the door's metallic part away from the window to access the locket and open the door.
Then once inside the car, they only moved everything from the hand box, removed every protections (ash trash, etc.) and leave them every where in the car.

Last summer I already made a blog post about it, and they did it again after that.
The 5th time happened in November, where they stole again my gearbox ball. I stopped buying new one ...

Now, in February, After 4 months without more degradation, I decided to fix it.
My dad and myself tried to put the door metal back in place. It was almost perfect, but still a little open between the metal and the window, but not noticeable from far away.

But then, last week-end it happened again
But this time it looks like the delinquent only broke my door, but didn't get inside (maybe he was disturb by someone and run away).

This week I then decide to go to the police again to report it, and the funny thing is that another police man called me home the same day to ask what I've done with my car from the incident of last year, if I repaired it, how much it cost, etc. and they wanted me to go to police station to talk about it.
When I went to police station, they told me :
police - Well for your car, we know who is the person doing it.
me - You caught him ?
p - Well, in fact he broke into another car, and ... he forgot his Identity Card inside ! The owner bring it to us, and we ask that person to come. He admitted that he broke into that car. Then we showed him all the other cases and admitted he broke into your car many times.
m-

Well, so now the police asked me to go make the fix to a real coach/body repairer and ask how much it will cost, so that this person will pay for the fix.

They said it will be to his mother to pay as he is still minor :glare:
That gives him the right to do it again and again without any problem as he can't go to jail, and he is not the one who will pay or do community service.

They also said he lives near my home, that's why my car was always targeted (more than the others in town).

I'm glad they found him, but, damn I hoped he would pay for his acts and go to jail or anything similar.

Would it be ok for me to fix my car ?
I'm sure he will want revenge for being caught and will do it again.

Well, I'll go and make evaluate the cost for the repairs, maybe the judge will force his mother to give me that money.

That reminds me of when someone broke into my mothers car and stole all of her stuff. Credit card, social security. Pretty much everything. And then they got into more trouble when they use my mothers name to buy something with it.

The police said it was someone next door. One of them got arrested.

Wow, this is an interesting story.

I would pursue getting the money back. Not only for the money itself but also to make the boy face some kind of consequences (i.e hopefully his mother holding in his allowance if he has one, just getting angry at him would be good too).

If he loves my car that much, I can sell it to him.

Showing to the justice that people cares, and that he have to face it somehow.

Though, about his mother getting hangry, or not giving him his allowance seems maybe not useful.
I'm sure he is the kind of kid to deal drugs and go out at night to broke cars without giving a fuck to what his mother can think.

Hey just get the money
If he wants to do it again >.> he gonna needa cough up more money,
well his mom does but hey he'll learn something about not being a retard eventually

Fuck that, break his teeth.

You should wait for the kid to go to school and chase him.

Now for a serious answer;

Just fix your car and have his parents pay for it. The kid will most likely be too scared to do it again.

Hopefully his mother beat some sense into the boy and he'll find some other way to have his fun,
but the pessimist in me sort of doubts it.
How old is the boy?
Did he name any of the other people doing it?
You said that this has happened a lot in your town; is he going to be prosecuted for any of the other vandalism?

I thought the same think too : ABOUT TIME !
Police didn't do anything at ALL!

Hopefully the guy forgot his card
what a retard he is :rofl2:

Policemen didn't give me his name yet, but I think I will need it to modify my report against X (john doe) into his name.
I don't know his age either :(

He didn't name other people, but there are certainly others, as he didn't admit all the broken cars the police men show him.
He recognized only few cases, so I'm sure there are more people involved.
He will certainly have to pay something for all the repair cost of all the cars he broke. I think there will be a judgment.

Expected I know if I was breaking into peoples cars with my friends I wouldn't snitch even if it was obvious that I did it with others.

His parents are probably super pissed unless they're like SUPER rich.

I know a fool-proof plan to get back at him.

1) Buy a baseball bat. Metal is preferable.
2) Go to the boy's house.
3) ????
4) PROFIT!
