So I was an early adapter to the sx os pro. I've been using it without issue since launch. Well I came downstairs the other night to find that my dog had gotten ahold of my box and completely destroyed it. I always kept it in the original white box that it came in. Needless to say....it was worthless. So naturally I re-ordered a new one. But in the mean time I needed a new FG method. Before sx os I used a modded joycon but have since unmodded it. And instead of redoing it i decided to try the wire jig I've seen. Don't ask me me how, I guess I'm just a cluts, my ribbon connecting my right rail to the console was nearly severed and no longer working. Sucks, but I'm used to my bad luck. Odering one is no big deal but I can now only play purchased games with no FG jig. After some thought I remembered hearing of other methods to enter RCM. One that came to mind was removing the eMMC chip. After about an hour of research I found that there was almost no word or tutorial an the topic anywhere. Nervous but still willing I played with it and got it working. This is how.
Remove outer screws till you remove back cover
Do the same to metal cover under that after carefully removing SD slot.
This is where I fully removed my rail ribbon cable. A did this because it was no longer working and I have another in the mail.
Carefully remove the eMMC chip. Now power on your switch.
Simple as that. You are now in RMC mode.
I then shut it down re attaching my SD slot. I booted into RMC mode again. This time while leaving it on I carefully attached my eMMC. Still in RCM mode I used TegraSmash to send my payload and it booted right up to sx os then to the dash and worked great. I shut it down again repeating the steps only this time holding the vol+ while sending the payload. This allowed me to install AUTORCM. I do not like it, but it is better than having to do this process each time. And besides it's only till my new sx os pro and right joycon rail gets here.
For now I can not play in handheld mode but in and out of dock both work great.
Anyways, I hope this helps other people. The situation is unfortunate and unlikely to happen to anybody else but me, but if it does, at least there is some help now...
If in need then just ask me and I will do a full tutorial with pics and detailed instructions.
