forgot something i cracked my head when i was 2or3 so i got short term memory
No excuse. I have short term memory, yet I don't fail (all the time) still try. maybe if you actually show your parents you're trying your best they'll give you one. ask if they can help you with math, help with your english grammar and punctuation etc...

what I am trying to say is: if you don't do your best, you don't deserve anything.

And hey, while we're on the topic of horrible parents, let's talk about my dad. I haven't seen him in 3 years, thank god. You wanna know what he looks like? Google "kris kristofferson whistler." He has 1 leg, around half his fingers or so, some extreme mental deficiency or something that causes him to completely depend on his dying, cancer-infested, chain-smoking mother to do every fucking chore around his house while he sleeps and gets high all day, and he blames everyone else for his problems because when he was a kid, he had some disability involving his foot and his parents babied him because of it. He spends all his time either going to garage sales, picking through people's trash or going to auctions. He has a fucking peg leg. Short term memory? He's got that. Oh, and mark down paranoia and some fucking sleep disorder, too. And my mom and step-dad? Diehard conservative Christians who'd kill me if they knew I'm a pro-marijuana, liberal atheist. As much as I'd love to tell them, I can't. Because they'd hate me and avoid me like the plague for the rest of their lives. I have a 3DS, though. I sold stuff and worked for my relatives for it. Some other stuff was a gift from my dad, he got a settlement check after he lost his fingers because he's too fucking stupid to realize that not wearing gloves in the winter will give you frostbite. You can find my dad on facebook, bitching about how I didn't tell him happy father's day, invite him to my graduation or any of that other shit. And how my mom is the worst thing in the world. I'm sure your's are worse, though. They obviously don't care about you. That's why you've got a working arm and are healthy.

Uh...

... ._. No comment.

So, being a 19 year old guy, I am gonna make some points here. Keep in mind, I often find myself thinking more mature than most people my age, but acting less mature.

In fact, maybe I'll turn this into a story-ish thing.

I got my first job when I was 18. I had a girlfriend at the time (we broke up... two or three weeks ago, can't remember. But it was a 2 year relationship) and her father helped get me the job (he works there) at Target. Starting pay isn't bad (8 an hour), I got a raise once their pay year ended (now making 8.19 an hour). I try to work my ass off there but sometimes I goof off with my coworkers and have some fun. Not the right thing to do but it passes they shift SO much faster.

Due to this (my working my ass off) and my love of electronics, I got on excellent terms with the electronics manager there and will soon be promoted to working in electronics (which comes with another pay raise).

I am not the best student in the world, by far. My strong points are English and any computer class (majoring in computer science). Horrible at math (hardly passed with a C last semester), stink at my last 2 electives (philosophy and psychology before that). I hardly tried, but this semester (once I get this financial aid shit straightened out, gfdi) I am going all out, straight A's. Already swore to myself that if I don't, I am going to kill myself (JK, JK. chill). So I have a fairly poor GPA (oh, I am in college, mind you) because work takes up a lot of time (I don't cut my schedule much when I have school) and if I am not working I just want to fucking relax for once...

But working has given me the chance to buy myself whatever I want. I've bought a new PC screen (150), PC upgrades (450), a 3DS (212 due to employee discount), 3 games for it (100 dollars, one was on sale (also have an employee discount), building an arcade cabinet (waiting on my 117 dollar order from DX, spent around 50 at radioshack so far, and probably another 200+ on lumber and other materials), needed to buy a lot of parts for my car (dont even know the price of all the parts... over 600 on tires, 650 on a trans, and probably a good 500 more on other parts, need to spend ANOTHER 100 on an EGR valve... and I also bought the car myself, a 95' Infiniti G20, $2100), external hard drive (80), a cheap Android tablet (160 bucks), a good 500 bucks of games on steam (hate myself for that...), minecraft (21). That roughly equals $5, 970 I've spend by working at Target for almost a year (damn... now I am depressed...) and I gotta pay 150 a month for car insurance, I buy meals at work a lot, 40 bucks to fill my tank twice a month (maybe a little less than twice a month), I have a WoW subscription, bought a DSTWO... I'd better stop.

(tl;dr) I spent a LOT of money I didn't really need to. But, I am a working man now (thankfully live with parents) and stupid as I may be, that's my decision to make. Once this cabinet is done, I am done spending money for a while (aside from what I NEED to spend it on).

But, though my grades may not be the best, I work for what I want and buy it with my own wages. Now, based off of your first post, you REALLY need to get your shit together, man. That WHOLE thing was two sentences, if I counted correctly, and more of a run-on than a train hitting a truck. Being lazy gives you ZERO freedom to complain that your parents (who are going through a recession, not a "recension") aren't buying you your toys that you dont even deserve, especially when there are more critical things to spend it on (getting your arm fixed?).

And I know about injuries. Dislocated my right kneecap over a year ago. Didn't need surgery, but the thing still bothers me to this day. And the way it happened makes me very susceptible to it happening again, at random. So I have to be careful with my knee.

tl;dr - you're acting like a spoiled brat who is QQing that mommy and daddy won't buy you the toys that you don't deserve and will likely distract you even more from your failing education. Pick your grades up, get your arm fixed first, stop complaining that you don't get what you want. There are people who have it a LOT worse than you and complain even less. My best friend's mother died of breast cancer a few years ago and he just had to put down his dog a few months ago. His girlfriend was raped a few years ago. He got laid off, stopped getting unemployment money, his girlfriend has a more or less shitty life and lost his favorite pet. But you NEVER see this guy complain. And God bless him, he is a better man than I, and I love him like I love my younger brother. And he, too, buys what he wants with his money. Doesn't wait for his dad to buy shiny things for him.

-Stop complaining
-Get a job
-Pull your shit together, you ungrateful brat.

Edit - chao1212 made me realize something. I never even mentioned my biggest problems.
-I am single as of a few weeks ago coming out of a 2 year relationship (as I previously said), yet I feel completely fucking normal. Most people would cry their eyes out, be depressed, turn to drinking and drugs and whatever, cut themselves, you name it. Not me. I've got a pep in my step, I am happy, I plan to try pot with one of my friends soon (only once, as I plan), don't and never have drank (other than a half a beer once every like 5 years), don't cut, don't do drugs, not depressed, not crying over it. Told myself "shit happens, we get over it and move on" and "no amount of crying is gonna bring us back together so why bother? I got more important things to bitch about."

So here I am, single, and unmoved by it. Outwardly, I am happy. Every once in a while I feel like a complete piece of shit though for NOT letting it get to me like a normal person. Makes me feel like a heartless, cold bastard.

Want to talk about birth complications? Shit man, I got that covered too. Now, I am only saying this because I NEVER talk about it, and it has caused me a LOT of paranoia over the years. Hopefully opening up about it will help me get over it and realize it's no big deal.
-When I was being born, I came out fine and everything. But the doctors realized there was some dead tissue in my body. They consulted my parents, who didn't want to have the tissue removed, because it would make me abnormal. The doctors said though that if they didn't remove it, the deathness would spread to surrounding tissue, making me even LESS normal. So here I am, a 19 year old male, with one testicle. Yep, you read it right - I had a dead nut when I was born and they took it out. Didn't get like a prosthetic one or anything put in, just got one nut chillin down in mah pants. Now, once I got sexual with my ex-girlfriend, I became very paranoid and it led to a lot of less-than-satisfying sex (and none at all, at times). You've got an arm with reduced mobility. I've got one nut. Think I beat you on this one.

Suck it up. In the past three years my parents haven't bought me a thing because of our financial situation. No iPod, no computer, no games. Nothing. Not for my birthday, not for Christmas, not when I get a perfect score at an exam. Do you know how I paid my TV, my Xbox, my HDD, my iPhone and pretty much everything else? I worked my ass for it. Yeah, no shit. I made money by my own means and bought what I wanted. And if I ask anything from my parents, I know they'll try their best to provide it because I deserve it. I work hard in school and get awesome grades. If I get a bad grade, it isn't because the teacher is a bitch. It's because I need to work harder.
You sir are a whiny, spoiled bitch. And you should learn some punctuation.
wealth = happiness
I hope you do not actually believe this.If so,your parents are setting you up for a HUGE disappointment.

My parents are worse, I have to wake up at 7:30AM, play violin for 2 hours (my mom then leaves for work, dad already leaves at 6), and do calculus (every fucking morning, there is a PACKET of math on my desk, 20+ problems guaranteed). I still love them though, I know that they're doing their best to get me into a good collage, and onto a good job (Chinese values, wealth = happiness). If I get a B+ or lower during the school year my electronics are immediately confiscated and I get "grounded (no fun times with friends, no electronics)" for at least a quarter. I have a 3DS, iPod Touch, and custom built computer because I WORKED for it.

tl;dr: Asian lifestyle is brutal but you get huge rewards. Pull your shit together OP, and start caring so you can get a good job. Then, you can buys many 4DSs as you would like.
i;m tring to but i need to get some things fix like my right arm the story when my mom was giving labor that bitch ass doctor messed up my arm badly when getting me out almost making a miscarriage nearly killing my mom and me in the process i wasn't able to have a whole lot movement in my arm until my operation i got when i was six even then my arm was near from full functionality i was going to get another one that was supposed to bring full function to my arm but a few years back the recension hit my dad hard making him lose his job so i never got the operation. if you guys are wondering why didn't my parents sue the doctor they didn't know his name and since they were from Mexico they were afraid of deportation and had limited rights. i never wanted to be partially disabled it just happened.
plus i not spoiled my life is just in a spiral right now
I am not going to say it doesnt make things a little more complicated, but its no excuse not to achieve. My girlfriend has limited mobility with her left hand and was born premature, yet she is one of the most brilliant people I have ever met (totally not being biased :P ) But yes, there are always options and giving up simply because of that is no excuse.
Why are you guys telling a 9 year old kid to find work?
According to his profile he is actually 13. So not old enough to work still (at least, not in NJ).

But that doesn't mean you can't mow your neighbor's lawns, ars25. I did that for a few years before I got my job.

And I just thought I'd add my sob story to this for a bit more perspective. My father committed suicide when I was 16, leaving me, my mother, and my 7 year old sister(at the time obviously) behind. The night before my GCSE exams started, but TBH I did as well as I was expected to. My mother fell apart totally for months, actually a couple of years. So I started looking after my little sister, kept the house going, organised the little money my mother had and got an almost full time (30 hours a week on average) to keep us fed, warm, and the mortgage paid. Oh and making sure my mother wasn't trying to top me, my sister, and herself. I kept this up throughout my A levels while fucking aceing every subject I took and getting the place at the uni I wanted to go to.

You want to know what thanks I got. Nothing but constantly having to fend off violent attacks from her, accusations of thievery, and of actually killing my father and making it look like a suicide until she snapped out of it.

And you know what? I still love my mum to pieces, and never stopped doing throughout that all ordeal. And before her breakdown she'd obviously done a fucking cracking job of bringing me up.

And you want to bring in health problems as an excuse for poor grades I'll have you beat there too more likely than not.

Forgot to mention, on my mother's side I've got heart problems I could be inheriting along with a spinal deformity or something that causes one leg to be shorter than the other, and on my dad's side I've got poor blood flow and an extremely addictive personality, so it's possible I could also be an amputee.

And sorry Plasma Dragon, but I kinda lol'd at the one nut thing. Sounds awful, though.

Heh no biggie. Actually kinda smiled knowing it made you lol. I try to not let it bother me but boy does it strike up some big paranoia at times. Was often afraid my ex-gf was gonna thing I was "weird", for lack of a better term while we were dating, and she hated how much it bothered me because to her it didn't make sense. Played a bit of a factor in the breakup. Fuck'er though, not worth it. And me, ya know it's just like everything else that's wrong with me. Didn't know I was colorblind or had poor eyesight till I got my eyes checked. Thought it was just normal. Didnt think having one nut was odd till sex-ed in elementary school where I learned guys have two of em (which I still didn't find it too odd that I had one, oddly enough...) But to go with everything else in my life, "shit happens. deal with it". Cant change it, and much as I would like it to not bother me it still does, so hopefully me making it publicly known here will help me get over it lol.

If anything, it's an interesting sort of thing without too much inconvenience, if you didn't notice until someone told you. A bit like having one eye, only not at all. You should make up a backstory involving piranhas or something.

I didn't expect there to be a list of famous people with one nut, but there is. Arnold Schwarzenegger's apparently one of 'em, and according to several women these days he hasn't had any trouble with the ladies. Napoleon Bonaparte, too. You learn something new every day.

True, very very true...

I'm not sure if this is a B'aww thread or a motivational thread anymore.

Buuuuut.....I had extreme scoliosis and had to have surgery.
(For those who don't know, it involves taking out a rib, grinding it up, and putting it around a metal rod which is then fused to your spine to make it straight again.). My job involves a lot of lifting heavy objects at times, and I manage. You know how? Painkillers. The point being, there is always a fix to any problem, if I can lift heavy objects all day, you can do math OP! Now get out there and crunch some damn numbers......and English, for the love of God please learn about run-on sentences and fragments.....Maybe get involved in a spelling bee, its good practice.

Ah, yeah. That runs in my family. Not so extreme, though, I believe. Enough to not be allowed to join the army, though.

EDIT: Also, I think OP has abandoned ship. Boo.
