Dating a few just for test or anything can lead to disease like STI.. I am not talking about sexual but French kiss.. You never know that they might have cut in their gum or bleed hide in their mouth that you didn't noticed. A few is not a good idea. Dating only one and if it didn't work out then take your time to find the right person. Dating a few is like a toy and its not right. Very dangerous.

It is completely normal to date a few people casually at a time - especially when you get older like 28-35 and you're trying to find a potential husband/wife and don't want to waste years of your time with someone who you don't have a long term future with (you want to get to know as many people as you can so you have the best chance of finding the right person to commit to).

Don't listen to the others @Elalexyzoner. They probably don't have experience of adult relationships.

@Quantumcat so are you agreeing with @Elalexyzoner who said that if you have a boy/girl friend and you have sex with someone else then thats not cheating? Seriously is that what you think?

Is that how you think things work? Also what is the difference between that and trying a new model every two weeks or so but in succession with no overlap?

Yes @Quantumcat but he also said that if you have a girlfriend and do it with someone else then thats not cheating did you miss that part.

@AmandaRose I didn't say that, i said if you have a girlfriend is not cheating, it is having no respect for your partner, if you are MARRIED is cheating.

@AmandaRose Well... maybe we have 2 different concepts od the term, maybe for our countries, remember that every country has their culture, maybe we have a different way of seeing the things, you say cheating applies for Girlfriends and wifes, and i respect that, and i say cheating only applies for married people, you should respect it.

I know you're facing a stressful moment in you love life, but you should relax and keep on, we have different points of view, but i think we are right.

Maybe you get it wrong, you think that if I had a girlfriend, I would be dating others, but no, I just wanted to point out the terms that I said above…

There are various terms that get brought up in situations like this. Those being committed relationships and exclusive relationships.

In general parlance everywhere that speaks English then having/being a girlfriend and having/being a wife would be seen as no different as far as exclusivity goes, unless you were otherwise in an open relationship (though even then "open" relationships can have bounds). Marriage might represent a legal contract (a stupid one from where I sit but different discussion for a different thread) stating as such (the forsaking all others part of many vows) but it is pretty much only the US military that cares about that part (and even then it is used more as a means to an end for a lot of things I have seen).
To that end it would not be a cultural thing one "should respect" (I have problems with that line of thought in general) as much as a linguistic one, one that seems to be causing much of the confusion here for most of the people replying.

It is however entirely possible to be doing various actions that would fall under the umbrella of dating activities but not actually having any committent to the people in question, and all sorts of more variable arrangements*. Various terms are used to describe this, ranging from casually seeing, to friends with benefits, in some cases it might be hooking up with, in some cases it could be a series of one night stands and this could go on for a while. This sort of thing sounds far closer to what you are doing. It sounds like there are no stated or expected measures of commitment or exclusivity.

Furthermore it could well be possible than your culture recognises anything other than marriage as just having some fun. I am not particularly aware of any that do that as a wholesale thing. Some within it might go for that (worst of both worlds if you ask me) but as some culture wide thing... not so much.

*in my experience the dating but not dating thing pending finding someone else is tricky as feelings arise more commonly than is ideal, it speaks to a measure of "just settling" and if not then. However such things don't seem to be what you are doing if the posts here are accurate.

That's Elalexyzoner's opinion. I have a relationship for 21 years.. Next Feb will be 22 years. Yeah, I have an experienced dated several but not at the same time. I refused to do that. And it was not normal anyway. By the way, I had a lot of broken hearts and move on and it was difficult experienced for me but I am glad that it is in the past. I am proud to have my relationship of 21 years. Found the right person in my life. Same common, same country, we loved video games too.. Not easy to find one like that. Still madly in love and stronger every years. A respect, listening, consideration, humble, understanding, plenty of love, and always there for someone is a key. Of course, we argument but we forgive and forgot. Not much argument so far which is good. Many don't have that. They thought they love someone and find that they aren't. Yeah, you assume wrong and I am not one of them, lol, @Quantumcat, smh!
