In the past two month, it's the third time I almost get hit by a car
And for all three times, it was always for the same reason

I need to cross the road, I wait the green light
then I look before and behind me to see if a car wants to cross too
None? perfect, I cross
and then, I see a truck very close to me, who break very hard
Reason? he didn't turn his flasher on
...
...
...
yes...
please drivers, flasher aren't an option you can use

I assume this is to do with a turn on red/free right on red?
A phrase I learned when doing the learn to drive bit is "right is right, physics is physics". You might have the right to cross the road but physics does not care and will see you be a red smear on the ground regardless.

If people think indicators are a fun optional extra to spice up driving from time to time then learn to read the road instead. Trucks will tend to telegraph their actions, as will the people driving them (you said you recently gained super vision from your new glasses).

Anyway now I have to contemplate how many points you would be worth if hit.

If I count the number of times I've been "almost" hit because someone failed to use their turn signal... But yea, even when I'm extra cautious (nearly always) and wait with the presumption people will just turn without telegraphing their turn beforehand, there's still been plenty of times I've had cars which will edge into the turn as if I really should be running or something to get across the intersection. Honestly, plenty of people just entirely fail to look for pedestrians. I'd say it's more luck (and maybe good brakes) that there aren't a lot more dead pedestrians where I live.

The worst is when they get mad at YOU even though you have the right of way. I've contemplated letting one hit me if I thought it was survivable and not permanently debilitating. A lawsuit, time off work and lots of painkillers in the future doesn't sound so bad.

It's not they're fault they ran you over because of all the *other* pedestrians who entirely ignore the law. Same with bicyclists.

easy solution, don't go outside :^)

i'm super introverted and almost never go outside tbh, my biggest risk is probably falling down the stairs or vitamin d deficiency

Not at all. It's an old joke
The original was probably death race 2000 (which would be 1975), and even if it was not the first it was almost certainly the idea that brought it to a wider audience

It has however been done and redone loads of times ever since.

If it's the third time in a short period, it begs the question if you might be the problem. Or at least you're very unaware of your surroundings and it leads to easily avoided moments.

@Hells Malice It's just as likely that the drivers are flat out shitty where he lives, or it's tourists from other states being jackasses. God knows we get plenty of that in summer in my area.

I can tell you that you really need to observe before crossing the street.
From what I can tell, Nocto really needs to pay more attention, that's all.
