It took me almost 4 years, but I finally set aside my anxiety...

...and beat The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Now, I still have both DLC to do, but my anxiety of fighting Ganon kept getting the better of me. I'd always scale the castle, but whenever I got to the Sanctum, I'd chicken out. But not today. I used the restroom (and washed my hands), made a fresh and hot cup of coffee, got some Battle Snacks™, and took him on. Beat him on my first try, he really wasn't difficult. I actually had a harder time with his beast mode because my horse kept running in between his toe knuckle, and died... So I was left with the final 4 shots running around on foot, lol. Thanks for nothing, you random-ass horse. :rofl2:

Sadly, I barely made a dent in my Battle Snacks™ before the fight was over. (They were spicy chips.)

ON TO DLC AND MASTER MODE!

I love the game... I keep coming back to it. My only beef is how shitty the weapon durability is. They break after just a few hits, even with extended durability. There's no shortage of weapons, you just need to look around in crazy places to find good ones. Any Royal weapons are definitely worthy. The Edge of Duality is probably my favorite sword, though it's fugly. The prettiest sword I think is the Royal Broadsword (which also deals great attack damage). Cooking is fun and easy to do, as long as you pay attention and read the ingredients' descriptions first. If you love open world games, it's amazing. Lots of challenges are to be had, and the DLC is very challenging.

Excuse me, you should follow this very very accurate Speedrun to beat GANON, it wouldn't take 4 years so......

well since I was too chicken-shit to fight Ganon, I would just keep grinding to upgrade all my armor sets until they were all 4-star sets. I think I just have two 3-star helmets to upgrade still, but I have all the best armor sets in the game, most fully upgraded. I also have 101 shrines done, without googling their locations. Just been exploring like crazy.

I haven't played the game, because I'm not much into open world games. sounds too overwhelming. I like the way zelda was with big dungeons, and whatnot.

It really isn't over-whelming, they start you out on a plateau, so you get proper training before they set you off into the open-world. They make sure you have what you need before setting you loose, and it really helps.

And I agree, Thunderblight Ganon was a bastard. Took me 4 tries to beat him.

I guess I'm afraid of it being too non-linear. that's the reason I prefer JRPGs instead of Western RPGs. I'm afraid it may be too westernized.

If you have a hackable Switch, or a PC that can run Dolphin/Yuzu emulators, then you can try the game out for free before committing to it.

I actually have pirated the game on the wii u, but I did buy it on the switch, so I'll eventually get around to it. I spent a long time with odyssey (up to 842 power moons, then couldn't find anymore).

The end boss on Kirby was a multi-stage bastard. It wasn't really "hard", but took a very long time and was difficult to aim the shots on a constantly moving target.

if you mean the $60 kirby, I'm at the final stage. short but good game, but not worth the $60 imo. too short for that.

I bought the game retail back when I got on disability or so. had to go to a different best buy to get it. then, I bought it digitally later on. I sold the retail version for like $42 or so iirc.

btw, Nintendo had a voucher program (if you buy games digitally). they had it very briefly. I had most of the games it was for, so I didn't buy any. I didn't realize the vouchers could be used with future games too. it's 2 $60 games for $99.99 with one voucher. afaik, there was no limit.

It was very short, only having 4 worlds. But yeah, it was still very fun, especially with friends playing too on a huge TV. Might sell my copy since I beat it. The replay value is very small.
