The ones who have invested the least into the community, always seem to ask for the most from it. As if their opinions should serve as the base of gbatemp; even though gbatemp existed long before their mothers would even allow them one the interwebz.

I've always hated what GBATemp has become. I've been here for so long. In reality I've wanted to quit being staff here multiple times already, and I was always reconvinced each time.

Why am I wasting my time moderating and looking over a bunch of little kids and brats who are just shouting "I WANT FREE GAMES!!!" and constantly spitting out this garbage and trash on a regular basis. What happened to the old days where everyone was civilized, just talked about the new game releases. Where did guys like Tempest Stormwind go, who always had something good to say. Look at this place now. The only reason I even come here anymore is if I needed to check on something or ask a question. This forum has become nothing more than a giant flame. If it says anything, I'm not going to deny it, I was always out to get BoneMonkey and when he was banned I nearly did a backflip thinking there may be some hope for this forum.

I remember when Ace brought up that Forum Reinitiative or whatever that was. From the get go I was telling him shit like it wasn't going to work, but I always had hope. Of course it never did. I wasn't even a tad bit surprised.

There are a small handful of members here that I liked the company of, that I actually got along with. I'm not going to bother saying who because no one will care. Hell no one's probably gonna care about what I'm even saying here, but know that you guys were awesome and pretty much the core reason why I still stuck around, to see the occasional post from one of you that wasn't complete gibberish.

So consider this my mod resignation. And to everyone who's ever bitched about what I've ever done, one last message for all of ya...

Heh, well, I hope some of you are happy (you know who you are). You've broken a great staff member.

This is a thankless job, most of the time. We get flamed more than anyone else and are forced to grin and bare it while we clean up your messes and make this a nice place to discuss this and that. We spend literally hours, days and months making and tweaking features and policies for your safety and enjoyment. We go through all of the idea threads and take them into consideration one by one and discuss them at length, and then when we put them into effect we get bitched at.

We spend every waking moment trying to figure out how to make your lives here better at the expense of our own, and all we receive in return in contempt and flames.

Sorry to see you go, Gai, maybe you'll get the respect you deserve away from this place. Shame on all of you who pushed him to this point.

Don't worry Ace, there are still people who appreciate you guys! Most of the time it's the ones who knows how tough it is being mod! (*cough* Yours truly)

Wow. I can honestly say I didnt expect to see this happen. Gaisuto was pretty cool actually. But if he cant take it, Im sorry to say oh well.

Close registrations indefinitely. Ban ban ban. Get the house back in order. Everyone has a place in the community but no one should have the right to become detrimental to it. Even freedom has limits. The freedom that has been afforded to people like elenar has allowed them to grind against good people like Gaisuto. They play with the staff, they have no respect for the authority or their fellow tempers. They just jump from one loop-hole to the next using "freedom" as a disguise for being destructive. End the "democratic" gbatemp. Show them who is boss. Most members believe in the skill of the staff, we trust and support you guys. Now do it for us, fix this place.

Or give up and let this become 4chan.

Yes close it let no new memebers in and eventually all the people who have been here for a long time start to vanish one by one over time and soon the forum has no users and is a waste land of what it used to be.


How about make it so new users have to be accepted. These new users only get to see certian areas and eventaully get to see the rest of the forum after they made it through initiation.
