I'm pretty much addicted to this place too. Difference is, I'm not taking any breaks from this particular addiction. Work limits my time here as it is and my addiction is so strong that I go in to withdrawal and get grumpy at work because they want me to do all this silly job stuff I don't want to be bothered with just to have money to pay for my internetz so I can browse GBAtemp whenever I'm NOT working. I do pop in through my cell phone on breaks and lunches at work though.

But it's rough......I have to do all this boring, sloppy, filthy, sweat-inducing hard work for hours and only get a few minutes of break time each day.

THEN, there's the whole sleep thing. I really hate sleeping. It wastes so much precious off-from-work time, you know what I mean?

If I was the president, I would make work illegal and paychecks mandatory.

OR if that wouldn't work, I would make the days of the week Saturday, Sunday, Friday. You would still have to work on Friday, but they would have to pay you 5 times as much. Sounds fair, doesn't it?



Seriously though, GBAtemp is my escape. I escape the aggravation of my job, I escape the annoyance of all that "outside" activity, I escape my bro's constant jabbering in my ear about things inconsequential, I escape the bills, I escape reality and delve into the one place that instills at least a little peace in this messed-up world for me. The one place I can go and my bro can't follow (and won't, he's weird, he doesn't like videogames. ).....the world of video games discussion and news. GBAtemp excels at videogame discussion and providing the latest news from the world of video games. It excels in providing just the escape I need to stay relatively sane. I could never just "take a break" from GBAtemp.

So if you go on this hiatus you're talking about, remember that when real life starts to get you down and it's making you nuts, GBAtemp will still be here for you.

UGH! Gotta do that time-wasting sleep thing now. I would so like to rip the clock off the wall.......

Hey guys, thank you for wishing me well. I just came back to answer the USN thing...

As I've stated numerous times, I enjoy posting the news in the USN. I treat it as if it was my own little job, and I've grown accustomed to it. Besides, posting the news on here helps me become more aware of what's going on in the gaming community, so it helps both GBAtemp members and myself.

What I'm trying to "recover" myself from is my after-school GBAtemo browsing addiction. It's gotten to the point where I just refresh the main page and wait for new threads that interest me to pop up so I can discuss in them. I don't want to be a slave to my computer anymore, so I'm just cutting myself off completely. (Except for that half hour.)

Alright War, As long as you enjoy it.

I don't think I can ever make the same decision you're making, it's too difficult to leave. Although, I've done it for about 6 months in the past. I don't think I can do it again.

Good luck with that. I don't know if I'm addicted. I got nothing to do at home usually.. so I just browse GBAtemp. But yeah, I plan on taking a break from GBAtemp someday too. I think I've wasted a lot of hours here. I'm not saying that's bad, but I gotta find something else for myself to do during boredom. I think I should go to the gym everytime I crave GBAtemp.

At least, when I'm gone for a while, no one will probably notice 'cause I don't stand out much in GBAtemp. Lates and good luck with that.
