I wouldn't wish Texas on anyone... I feel fortunate to live in the best part of the U.S.A., the Pacific Northwest.

Question, do other US states have food shaped like them, or is it just a Texas thing? In Australia we have food shaped like Australia, but it's more like "hey fun look it's Australia shaped". This though... THIS is unironically using pasta as an expression of patriotism and that whole concept is just fucking great.

I wonder what they do with all the non-Texas shaped chickens...

I believe the idea with Texas-shaped stuff is that it's such a big state that they decided they'd just slap it on everything for funsies. It ties into the theme of "everything is bigger in Texas" rather well. Of course ultimately it's just convenient patriotic propaganda but that's not gonna stop me from making some good ol Texas-shaped pasta alfredo for the heck of it.

Plus it makes way more sense to have Texas-shaped food than some other state like... Idaho or something. More ergonomic.

@Brigand Yeah plenty of foods are shaped like Colorado. Eggo waffles, Wendy's burgers, most crackers...

Colorado has ideologically colonized the world through clever usage of rectangular-shaped food. Every time I have toast I'm forced to think of Colorado against my will - those bastards!

Colorado has the closest Microcenter to me... and I live in WA state.

The Texas pride and patriotism is wholly unique to Texas. I've never once seen a California shaped anything, and they're the second most egotistical state to Texas. I'm the only Texan in my family, and I should know better than to buy Texas shaped paper plates, but heck, sometimes the Texas factor is so great that I'm compelled to do so out of loyalty.

We even have Snickers bars with the Texas flag on them, made specifically and only for Texans. An entire candy maker is out there printing labels in a factory designed for a single state, because they know it'll boost sales x100 due to maniacal love for Texas. It wouldn't work anywhere else.

Its not even a matter of portion size or everything being bigger in Texas. It's It's unspoken idea that runs through every Texas native that anything Texas is automatically better than non Texas things. Dairy Queen isn't a Texas-only fast food chain, yet their commercials here have a jingle of "DQ...that's what I love about Texas!"

It's crazy. I love it.
