I Really Need New and Interesting DS Games to Play

I decided to make this a blog rather than just another recommend me games post that most people don't read and just throw in a random ass recommendation for the post count increase.

Basically, I have played most everything worth playing on the DS of who's existence I'm aware of. I have played every single major release. Don't even try to mention one to me, as I've played them all. I keep up pretty well. That's not to say I've beaten them all, as truth is, most DS games aren't worth the time. The game play has a really bad tendency to fall short without anything to really back it up. That's not to say I haven't beaten my fair share of DS games. Some games are real gems or are time wasters I can keep coming back to (primarily Picross 3D ♥).

I would like recommendations of games you consider to be good that aren't necessarily well known. I've been through many many threads on quite a few forums looking for games, but most people fail to see the big sign saying "no big releases."

Go ahead and hop to it if you think you have something to contribute.

Games not to recommend:
- Farming sims (that includes Rune Factory)
- No shovelware (the general idea of shovelware ie: Imagine series)
- DS sports games (they just....are DS sports games)
- Call of Duty games (the DS ones just aren't fun)
Try to avoid turn based RPG's if you can. I've played so many, I'm looking for something off of that path.

Otherwise I'm pretty open to suggestions.

Does Ivy the Kiwi? count as a non-major release?

Not a lot of people gave it a chance because of judging the book by its cover but I found it to be pretty fun and addicting.

Jam with the Band. it's a music/rhythm game but it's really fun. and with the tools that exist here (and Rubedo's thread) you can insert up to 150 custom songs to play.

also it has a very well made music maker studio. one for advanced musicians and one for ''dummies''.

I consider this game to be a gem, but it's not really well known...

It's immensely well known. Especially here in Temp.

Haven't played the first, the second sucked, and the third has a permanent spot on my MicroSD card.

Hadn't heard much about that one. May have to try it out.

I looked at some game play of it when it released, as it had a little hype in a few places. I wasn't sure if it would really grab me or not, as I heard it was very simplistic.

Jam Sessions
Up
Phineas and Ferb (NOT SHOVELWARE!!!)[/quote]

Haven't tried any of those. I'll check them out to see if they're up my alley.

I played the hell out of that game, but lost reason to warrant the large save being on my MicroSD.

._.
Where? I barely see any people playing it. besides the ones from rubedo's threads here... :/
And no, it isn't. in my country or the people I know online that have a DS none of them have even heard of the game.
Only us Pirates. :/

So yeah, I don't know if JWTB really counts as a Major release or not. but I still find it underrated and really fun.

(that and NoE didn't advertise the game really well >>)

Let me rephrase that.

It's immensely well known here in the Temp.

jet impulse, it's jap only but it's easy to figure out and incredibly fun and over the top at the end,
puzzle quest is a bejeweled puzzle game where you match gems to do damage to your opponet, and collect magic to use to cast spells to kill your opponet

Played it.

For the post above this:
- Will check out Jet Impulse. I don't mind (J) games if they are simple enough to not need the English.
- Tried Puzzle Quest. Really tried. Just not the game for me.

Giana Sisters didn't make it to the US. Not sure how big this game was across the pond. As for me, I can say that I honestly enjoyed the game.
