first, my screenshoter app broke. so i did the normal thing and refused to reboot.
i tried to fix it.
then i tried to download the source code, edit the thing that was broken in my system, compile the thing back, and install it, but i realized that i dont know how to code and i gave up.
then i tried to download some other screenshoting app that worked
i found one but it had too much white, and i thrive in dark themes, so i tried to set a dark theme for it
and then everything went wrong
i broke my whole OS-wide darkmode, some programs turned to white, the contextual menu (mouse right button) as well... everything. and by the point i noticed it, i had already touched too many settings to know how to unbreak the damage i did
after like two days, i miraculously found the setting that i was looking for. but for some bizarre reason, it only applied while the theming program was open. as soon as i closed the theming window, everything reverted back to white. it cared not for any "apply" or "ok" button i could press
i ended up manually editing files with sudo, and while i was at it, i found that you could add a line like "prefered_darktheme_default=yes" or something like that to a config.ini that i dont even remember where was located. it sounded like something i wanted, so i put it even if it was unneeded
two days after it, i opened the black-not-so-black sheep of my os, vlc player, the only program ever that i havent been able to make less white. it has custom skins, but those are just ugly to the point of unusability, so im just stuck with a very white window. but i wasnt. now, somehow, it is dark. i dont know when or how exactly this happened, but i like it a lot more like that
now my system is whole, after i broke it and fix it back, i have made it better
also, after everything of this i rebooted it and the screenshot works again
