I never thought I would enjoy a book as much as I just did...

Wow. I've never read a book in my entire life that made me want to keep reading when I could've been doing something else instead.

Often times, I only read books for my school projects. This one was different. I was looking through my local bookstore, and a book named Tuesdays with Morrie caught my eye. It was probably just the name, because it made me laugh. It was on discount for only $5, so I decided to pick it up.

This has, by far, been the best decision of my life. This book is indescribably good. I would summarize the book, but if I did I would want to go into every single detail.

This book has so many life lessons in it. It is the only book I've ever read that has made me cry. This is definitely not a one time read. The kicker was when I learned that it was non-fiction text.

This blog seems short, but in reality, I just want to say one thing.

If you haven't read it yet, buy it. Read it. Absorb it.

Devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to your community around you, and devote yourself to something that gives you purpose and meaning. - Morrie Schwartz

While it would be easy to go look it up I want to know why you enjoyed it so much? What was it about this book?

The narrator who is obsessed in his worldly life ends up visiting his favorite college professor named Morrie in his last days of his life. This goes on for fourteen weeks (always on tuesdays). Morrie teaches Mitch how to appreciate life and how to live.

That is a very shitty explanation, but in order to experience it you really need to read it.

That probably doesn't answer your question though :P

"I only read books for my school projects"
I had similar problems. Following university for years I only read non fiction, then one day it clicked again.

I hate reading, in video games and IRL, back in school, we was forced to read, do book reports. Is always a book with a movie, and i was like, ""Why we can't watch the movie?" Holes, The outsiders, some others I can't remember, so many books to read. There was one book I thought was a bit much. Though games may be fictional, it does have better stories of my interest, I do wish was remake with full voice audio. The giver wasn't that bad. :)

@Sonic Angel Knight - You just haven't found the books that click with you as FAST puts it.

Out of all the books you read for school which one did you enjoy the most? I'm sure I can find you something.

"It is the only book I've ever read that has made me cry."

You don't read many books I assume or you have a heart of stone. Then again, I tend to feel sad pretty easily when sad things happen in books. (*cough*Dumbledore dying in Harry Potter 6*cough*)

@Ev1l0rd it's not that I have a heart of stone, it's just that usually I push away the idea that something sad actually happened. This book was so good I didn't have time for that thought, and then when I found out it was a true story I was extremely sad. But in a good way

I did say i liked the giver. O_O

Besides, I just not the reading type, I'm the visual type, i like to see and hear things happen, even during most games I bother not to read unless it was short enough, like Breath of fire. But games like Final fantasy 7 8 and some others, just too much reading and slow pace. I bothered to read all of it, cause in RPG, you don't read what goes on, you get lost, and we had no walkthroughs back in 1999. :P

@Ev1l0rd Dude, everyone cried at that part of The Half-Blood Prince. That was the point of that part! Anyway, I'm kind of interested in reading this book now. Where could I find a copy?
