I need a bit of help with an LED animation thing...

I'm making a small little thing ahead of Pride month, and I'm not sure how to go about the Nonbinary flag. Which looks better, top or bottom? (black means the LED is OFF, the rightmost white LED in the top block is my attempt to clarify that it's supposed to be yellow white purple black, instead of yellow white purple)

Once I start working on the ace flag, I'll ask for more help like this. Thank you!

EDIT: Here's each pattern on the actual hardware, which is the Ozobot Evo.

YELLOW WHITE PURPLE BLACK (represented by that dim white LED)

If you have an Evo of your own and you'd like to toy around with the patterns, here's the test program:

Let me know if you can figure out a better pattern! :)

Omitting the black entirely like on the second example probably isn't the smartest move here, but I'm not sure why you repeated the white LED? It makes it look like Yellow/White/Purple/Black/White.

Black is definitely tricky to do on LEDs though, but I think just having it off for a time would suffice provided the environment is dark enough, If it's supposed to be a bright environment though then I'm not entirely sure what to suggest since having it off may cause the opposite impression. Maybe putting a black object underneath the LED so that colour is the one noticed?

Tomorrow (or later tonight perhaps) I'll update the post with images of each LED pattern version on the real hardware, which is a certain small robot B-)

I don't have one of those robots unfortunately.

Personally I think the first of those images comes across as the best. Turning the LED off is a great way to signal Black it seems.

However I'm still unsure about the the final white LED, it makes it seems like a different longer pattern to me. Maybe repeating Yellow would be a better idea? Or omitting it entirely though then you have two unlit LEDs in a row which might look weird.

Hmmm...... I mean, in the final program each LED pattern is gonna scroll, (right to left, I just like it that way) so maybe YELLOW WHITE PURPLE BLACK YELLOW would be the best way? I'll make it scroll, then show it to you guys.

Alright, here's the scrolling pattern. (stays on 1st frame for 0.5 secs, then each other fram ise is for 0.2 secs. 0.1 will be the final though)
