I did it after one year

Installed a new radio in my car. I had been saying I would buy a new one for a year, and install it myself. My old one was half dead, the screen didn't work and I could only listen to the radio through recalling presets. and I had to use a cassiate to use my Zune over my sound system. Today, after work I just went to Walmart, and saw a decent deal on that head unit I bought.
Don't think it looks bad for my first install. Took around 1 hour to install, 2 hours to find a wiring harness that fit the old connectors. spent 10 minutes mixing the levels to find a spot I like for variety of music. Next I think I will upgrade my front door speakers, currently doesn't have enough lows for my liking, the back has great bass because of the sub.

Hope no does that to me, though, if I plug a usb in it will auto change the source and it doesn't like my ZuneHD, so it would just error and it would be silent :wink: though who uses CD's still :O

Ahh, I remember the days when I would put a better radio and speakers in my car and blast my heavy metal music while cruising around. Now, I'm just one of those bitter old farts that complains about the inconsiderate punks that blast their radio as they cruise the neighorhood. :rolleyes:

Funny how the seasons of your life change as the years go by.....well, maybe not so funny....

I only blast my music on the freeway, I have it loud enough where you can only hear it when I am a complete stop. your more likely to notice me speeding before the music ;)

Heh, well all the speakers in my car are blown or dry-rotted anyway. Only thing I do now is listen to various talk shows on it. I would replace the speakers, but the car is beat and isn't worth the effort anymore. I only put as much into it as I absolutely need to to keep it going.

I'm also at an age where I couldn't tolerate playing music as loud as I used to.....ever hear the saying, "If it's too loud, you're too old"? I guess I'm at that point. Yay for me. :shy:

I don't like music that's loud for the sake of loud. It should be at a volume where you can actually appreciate it, not so loud that your ears are getting raped.

Then again in real life I do have a mind older than my body. I'm more mature than my father in many situations.
