I built a Gameboy Color XXL...

I did it fam.... I finally completed the final build of my Gameboy Color XXL. (And a few weeks ahead of schedule too!) I've been working on it since early June. My brother did 100% of the wood work and paint job. I did all the installation of parts, purchasing over $260+ of said parts, the project planning and direction, and troubleshooting power-draw issues. (I decided on metallic purple, but this lighting is terrible.) runs cool, and barely draws over 1 Amp of power from the mega-sized power bank inside. I've loaded it up with NES, SNES, Gameboy Color/Advance, GameGear, Genesis, and PS1 games. Also has Kodi media player and DOOM 2 installed. It's 5am here, and I'm going to bed.

Oh, and I forgot to mention it's 100% solderless, so anyone can build it. No soldering skills required. Everything is plugged in via USB!

I remember seeing this before it was finished. I like the new color.
Also, pretty cool that the controller detaches, I didn't realize that before.
I can't help but feel like it could have been made way smaller without sacrificing any functionality or even soldering anything though. There must be a lot of empty space inside that thing. It's not exactly what you'd call portable, much less handheld, so I have a hard time considering it a Gameboy anything since the handheld aspect is kind of a main feature of that.

I wanted it extra big because I'll be wearing it on my chest for a convention, and people can walk up and play it. I also wanted more room inside on purpose, so wiring wouldn't be crowded like the prototype was.

Speaking of meatballs, what's the deal with meatball sandwich? How can people eat those? It's ROUND. Trying to bite those in a sandwich is a challenge. It's easier to eat a burger stacked with toppings. :ninja:
