I'd consult with an electrician first and foremost. Poor wiring of a certain variety can trick that part of your brain that makes you think someone is behind you (object permanence). After that, I'd have a conversation with a kind and considerate skeptic, as well as a psychologist (psychiatrist give pills, psychologist talk it out, more or less).


A psychologist is just someone who you pay for their expertise. I mean, we all have that friend who gives terrible advice. A psychologist is just someone you pay who has been trained to give the best advice possible. That's it. But really, if you want all that mental noise to go away, get a house inspection from a highly skilled electrician, one that's rated really well in your area. Make sure they check your lights and thing like them, on top of looking in the walls if they can. You could have a fire hazard at the very least.
