Hi, I'm Rydian.

Staff and I talked. Furry shit's not going to be punished simply for being furry, it'll be treated like other stuff now (meaning if it's spam or adult or actually violates the rules or purposely causes a disruption it'll be removed, but stuff won't be removed/locked just for being furry anymore). <span style="text-decoration: line-through;">And in exchange I'll stop humping every leg in sight.</span>

Turns out a chunk of staff wasn't even aware that this was going on (they're not all moderating the whole forum, Costello runs the site and AW runs mag staff for example and such and many mods are sectional), whereas I thought it was a staff decision as a whole, and I also felt threatened because of actions against me around when I first joined (but the person responsible has apologized)... Well we had a long discussion (like, multi-week long) about it to give everybody a chance to chip in, and I think everything's going to be fine now (though I had one of my patented bitchfits early on). I didn't talk about it with staff earlier 'cause I was afraid I was being exempted or something for my contributions as mag staff, and I knew I was going to have to stop being mag staff when I got too busy.

So we're cool. I think.

Also before somebody asks why I'm not mag staff anymore, it's 'cause I'm pretty busy with class stuff, I'm getting into the last stages of this course and I can't just breeze through it anymore (as well I'm still doing a work study with the IT staff there)... so I don't think I have enough time to contribute properly while still doing what I do on the forums, but that's not to say I won't still try to do a writeup every now and then.


Now onto the actual blog-type aspects.

  • In my spare time I've been playing Terraria more. Did I mention most public servers suck ass? I probably should mention that, because they suck ass.

  • I totally made my first Let's Play, of Terraria. It's my first so don't expect anything amazing, I got kinda' bored when I hit the jungle area.

  • The Work Study at the college is pretty interesting. I mean yeah I get the crappy jobs like tweaking settings on over 60 laptops, but I also get to see cool stuff, and I'm learning while I'm there, and I like the people. And hey, I'm getting paid. I mean it's like 7.25 an hour, but that's a fuckton better than 0 an hour.

  • Got registered for the fall semester, I'm excited about it, though my work load might be large... it depends on how the classes are run.

  • I've decided to grow my hair out now to a normal length instead of shaving it all the time.

  • I totally got that new computer built. Only thing that's left to upgrade is the processor, but I'm limited to LGA 775 so I'm undecided as to what would be the best upgrade from my E6300 that wouldn't cost $300. When I upgrade the processor I'm going to put the old one back in my old computer, throw a harddrive in it, and try to sell it locally. I'm torn between a high-clocked C2D for emulation purposes (my current's not good enough for PS2 and GC/Wii smoothly), or a lower-clocked C2Q for general purposes.

OMFG. You are the reason that I love the temp so much (well, you and Ikki :wub: ) and I am SOOO glad you're back.

Welcome back Rydian! I am truly glad you decided to return. One thing you may not have realized (I didn't either until after you left) is that you have quite a positive effect on many members here. You're a heck of a lot more in-touch with the younger generation than I could ever hope to be and I know many members will be very happy to learn that you're back.

For the record, it's not furry (or gay) talk that bothers me exactly, it's the outrageous, over-the-top kind that was truly obscene that bothers me. Especially when one takes into consideration the average age of the members here and how the younger member's parents might view GBAtemp if they ever saw any of the things their kids were being exposed to. My sole concern when I made that rant-blog was the image GBAtemp was projecting to the kids who are at a very impressionable age. I know you've already said that my blog rant had nothing to do with your leaving in the first place, but I can't help but feel that my rant hastened your initial decision to leave at least a little bit. Just know that when I made that rant, I wasn't bashing furry's outright (even though it may have seemed that way), nor was I targeting any particular person, I was trying to say that some of the more obscene talk needed to be toned down. Also know that I don't consider you an enemy or bad person at all and I apologize to you for any misunderstanding I may have caused with that rant and the animosity that resulted from it.

We here at GBAtemp are an eclectic bunch and we may not always agree on everything that goes on here, but I'm sure I speak for the majority of members when I say we are glad you decided to come back into the fold.
