I'm happy with my $10 earbud headphones XD Though I do need to get a new pair...may try getting a new type of headphones...

I'm sporting the Shure 840's myself, which are phenomenal for only 200 US dollars. It kills my Denons and Senns.

How would you describe the sound of your phones? What's your point of reference? Amp or no?

I've been spending too much time at head-fi...

I haven't used them too long yet for a good review, but the first impressions are good. The lows are tight and punchy, mids are forward and smooth, and the highs are pretty good too. Details are fantastic, and the soundstage is the biggest I've used in any portable headphone or IEMs so far. They also handle complex music very well.

My sources are Zune HD and Sansa clip. I don't use an amp with these, because from what I gather the benefits of amping these are very small.

i like the look of the EW9's better than your ESW9's, but the sound probably doesnt compare.

When I start making money, I may want to invest into something like these. This may seem like a relatively stupid question, but compared to some $30 headset, how much better are these? How are things like the warranty and reliability on them also?

I'm pretty sure good $30 full size headsets don't exist.

I have ~USD260$ IEMs (Klipsch Image X5) and lemme tell you, they sound delicious
And yes, there is quite a difference between standard cheap 10-20$ headphones and 60-80$ ones. A pretty big one.

Oh and if I see *one* person promote Skullcandies or iPod earbuds here, I will smack you. Seriously.

Would it be an insult to say that my computer headphones are £5? :3
