Happy pride month

happy pride month! I am also a bisexual, and only few people know about it.
However at this rate it seems nobody really surprised. When I came out, my close friends were like "uh huh, isn't that obvious?"

Friends and Family know that I swing both ways and they are not bothered by it at all, or so I think.
I really don't care for Pride stuff cuz it has lost its meaning here, and when you say anything negative about it you get crucified :/

@Captain_N - I mean be proud of it, but that's the assumed default. You're missing the point of Pride Month here.

The point is that it's important to let LGBTQ+ folks know that they're accepted by people and that they're not alone. Especially considering there's a fairly significant group who refuses to accept LGBTQ+ folks (and I'd then also like to note that the Bisexual and Transgender parts of that group tend to get marginalized even by the other members of that group), having the ability to be proud of who you are can help a lot and more importantly will help people who are still in the closet feel comfortable with coming out of the closet, even if those in their immediate vicinity may not be supportive of them.

The desire for "straight pride" or "straight pride parades" is a fairly simple dogwhistle to attempt to play down what I stated in this previous paragraph. Nobody is gonna sling insults your way for being straight. Nobody is gonna kill you for being straight. Those are the real risks LGBTQ+ folks can face in some places.

I encountered that expression last week, but I don't understand what it means.
"would you date someone still in the closet?"
the closet is where you put your things, cloths, etc., right? why would someone be inside a furniture/cabinet? so I thought it means something else. maybe "still virgin" ?
in your sentence, it feels like it's someone who just never told about his orientation to his family. is that right? but my question didn't mention any LBTGQ, so it might not be about the "coming out".


Also, does the Plus part of LGBTQ+ include A and D ?
I guess I'm straight Asexual and Demisexual. Oh, and just learned I might even be Sapiosexual !
if the "+" is for all other orientation, then straight is also part of it. it's just a way to tell "accept everyone"

I've read about it too, if you're a man then it's heteroflexible. not entirely bi, just a preference for opposite sex, without being closed or against same sex.
But still not "whatever the sex, just listening to your own feeling and sentiment for the people itself", then it would be Pansexual.
