Guessing people's gender (wrong) in forums...based on their avatar

Due to the anonymous nature of a forum such as this (people have avatars and use nicknames) , it's not easy to get the gender of other members right...I decided to use the avatar as a clue and assumed that all people with a female character avatar were girls...

It works in some cases (for example: Aurora Whright), but not always...

P.S: is Rinnegatamante male or female? because they have a girl character avatar so I assumed female but I tend to be wrong about that...

I read on reddit I think that rinnegatamante is Mtof transgender. I'm not sure though.

It's easy to find somebody's gender on GBATemp. Just go to their profile and it's listed there if they put their gender on their profile. Rinnegatamante is male according to his profile.

If they don't have their gender on their profile, I just assume they're male. If somebody doesn't make their gender easily known, they shouldn't get mad for people getting it wrong.

Well according to my avatar I am a guy with glasses now...(I admit i have brown hair and glasses though)...

According to my avatar, I'm the next President of the United States! Anyway, if you really want to find out the gender of a member:
1. Check their profile as stated before.
2. Try Temper Pics! Maybe you'll find a selfie or something.

Well is a little thing, to be honest some people have misgendered me (I"m talking in person not Online) and I didn"t be offended by that, but sure there will always be people that be offended maybe but it isn"t a big deal after all since we are talking about a forum.
Also note that check the profile for the gender won"t work with people with an unspecified gender like me.

Weirdly I would have said guy too...but because the nickname is close to Victor a male name...
