Got my freaking bag stolen

I was at a gaming arcade (CHQ Metrotown, Burnaby, BC, Canada), I put down my bag right next to the machine because it was heavy and someone grabbed it and ran away.

Lost:
Name brand bag (black/grey)
Blue PSP Phat + 16GB legit MSPD
Black NDSL + AK2 + 1GB microSD
Sony earphones
Umbrella
Puppy doll pencil case with stationary
2 bottles of Powerade

Totalling over $700 worth of stuff (when I bought them)

Since it's too costly to buy them again (even just the machines), I'm gonna quit DS and PSP gaming.

If you see someone bragging about acquisition of a bag with above contents on the web please let me know.

Holy crap, since when was Canada so ghetto? I keep hearing all these stories about people getting mugged and robbed over in maple syrup land. Maybe just some guy saying "What you thinking aboot? Me stealing all your shit, eh?" kinda ruins the whole "homie" persona for me.

Leave your electronics in your pockets. Even if it does stick out a lot it'll be harder to pickpocket. Or just leave them at home.

Ouch, I feel bad for you, first my Acekard gets stolen by my cousin and you get over 700$ worth of stuff stolen. When will theives learn?

i would have worn the bag hanging on my chest like a baby rather then put it down...

Can you stop being ignorant please. Your making America look bad. Thank you.

oh my god, they took your umbrella?

but, man, does that really suck. my best friend last week had his N95 stolen last week at school. some guy took the phone and left the sim card so we know it was stolen.

did the guy take the bag right in front of you or was he just reall sneaky

Well I wanted to carry the bag since I have stuff like umbrella and travel pack tissues, AND handhelds to save me from a 2 hour trip boredom to the arcade.

I reported to mall security first, they sounded like reporting to the police is an option but pretty much a waste of time.

I thought the value would have been lower, but I also lost the bag =P At the time I was so panicked I said it's worth 4-500.

Not much I can do besides hoping that my PSP battery would explode and burn the thief's house down, or my DS battery exploding while that person's playing it to blow a couple fingers off.

Karma.

That's harsh. And as for whoever it was there making the arrogant comments (meant as a joke or not) about Canadians, what with living in "maple syrup land" (you're thinking Ontario, not all of Canada) and saying "aboot" (That's more the east somewhere... I forget which province though) and "eh" (Again, the east), it makes you look bad. For the sake of your own credibility, I suggest you cut out the stereotypes, as perhaps 5% of Canadians are actually the ones that some of the US and the some of the rest of the world make us out to be.

Anyways, as for having your bag stole, OP, I'd suggest reporting it to the police. It may not be a bother, but regardless if it was a bag with $700 worth of items or a car, the principle is the same - thieves shouldn't be allowed to get away with stuff like that. I mean, you should have kept a closer watch on your bag, but some of these things just aren't preventable. All you really can do now is report it to anyone you can, tell everyone you know to keep a watch for it, and wait.

Is it really a good idea to report a stolen bag to the police that consists of pirated gaming tools? especially with all the controversy right now about piracy in Canada.

Seriously though, check some of the pawn shops, bring bribe money just in case they won't tell you who sold it to them :D. The thief probably has no use for it other than to make a quick buck, so that's where I'd check.

My phone got stolen once from some fuckers on my school.
I even got i back, the screen scratched and some things were gone. :glare:

But a whole bag is pretty shit, even though the robber didn't knew whats in it.

i had my acekard 2i stolen in school on thursday by some dick now i have to order a new one :(

I would've cried...badly.

meh, hope it all comes back to you, as much as this may sound weird but it COULD have been worse.

It's 4 a.m. here and I can't sleep because whenever I lie down it keeps coming to my mind.

I think the mental damage is far more severe than financial...

The noob must be cursing about how he didn't get a r4 now

I feel sorry for you. I hope something like that doesn't happen again :(

Make sure you check eBay or Craiglist around your area. I'm sure you will find it eventually.

Go to local game stores to see if they got any new trade ins that match your DS and PSP
