Good modern cartoons?

So Im a big fan of modern cartoons, especially the ones not aimed mainly at adults, although I love myself some Rick and Morty. Almost everything is between seasons right now though and I am barely scraping by. Does anyone have recommendations of high quality, preferably modern cartoons I should check out? Not looking for anime at the moment.

Adventure Time, Regular Show, The Amazing world of Gumball. This is a Cartoon Network golden trio, which prints money since 2010. These are really funny. Actually you can even see the evolution in Style of AT, which was first dumb jokes and ended up much more serious and emotional, and Gumvall, where the two main protagonists were first two idiots and became almost the only mentally sane (almost) characters in the show.

Interesting information on AT and gumball. I was never able to stand ATs humor, and I've seen through the first 2 or so seasons but if it matures up like the other shows i listed i might have to give it another try. I always liked regular show though for some reason, despite it not being much more mature than AT. Go figure.

Gargoyles is a really good show. I use to watch this show back on the disney channel when I was a kid. Animation is top notch and characters have some depth to them.

Yup. Starting from season 3, it gets slightly more serious, but from season 4, it drives exponentially. And there's no way you can miss an episode, 'cause it tells a story (The Great Mushroom War and whatsoever) about the past of Ooo and the arrival of Finn. The fandom got crazy in theories about that :P

I noticed that animation in a couple of the newer shows aren't as good as past hand drawn ones, characters are less detailed and more simple in design. Like in adventure time and gravity falls.

On the plus side it does get animation done faster, especially since they are done on computers, so they can focus more on backgrounds, color, and story.

I don't like American modern cartoons at all except Tom and Jerry and others in 1980's.

Japanese anime is my things now. :)

@migles Yeah, I love that. I remember that episode with the reference to Microsoft Word 2000's stupid assistant, or a "Don't feed the troll" reference, but with a *real* troll :P
