Going 3DS hunting tonight.

Well, Walmart is having their discount early, and I want to get into the ambassador program, so I'm getting the 3DS tonight. I stopped by a Walmart today during my lunch break, but they only had blue, and I want black. Though if they don't have black in the next Walmart I visit, I'll settle for blue.

I'm pretty excited. Even if the 3ds is a commercial failure, nothing Sony releases with the Vita will live up to the magic of Nintendo franchises like Mario or Zelda (for myself).

Nice. I think I'd still stick with the original DS Lite, although. A lot of people are upgrading, and I'm still looking to grab one for my girlfriend.

What games are you looking forward to on the 3DS?

Got my 3DS on launch day (bday present :)) I'm mostly waiting for

Super Mario Land 3D - November 13
Mario Kart 7 - December 4.

Let's see... there are quite a few, but Mario Kart and Mario 3D, Animal Crossing in particular, and the MGS3 remake are top on my list. If you count DSiWare, the Four Swords downloadable. My DS Lite is also borked ( :( ) and I have a few games from that to still play.

target has dropped their price early as well as of this morning (ymmv, so you may have to check a few stores to find one that has marked down the retail price)

plus, if you have a target credit card, you'll save an additional 5% off of the price :)

KINGDOM HEARTS 3D FTW. That is the only game I am looking forward to on the 3DS. I will wait until Nintendo releases the "lite" version the 3DS. Then I will buy one.

You seriously think it's worth waiting? If peoples insane fears are true, the 3DS wont last long enough for a 'lite' version. Also, I really can't see any way to make it smaller and still be usable.

Well I'm waiting for the very unlikely XL, or at least one where the touch screen and top screen are the same size.

That's good to know. There is a small Target nearby that no one visits, so if the Walmart near my house doesn't have it, I'll try that.

@OP - How can a system become a failure so early into its life? If 1 year from now, the 3DS sales aren't any better I'll agree to your claim, but not now. That's bullshit.

not claiming anything, maybe I didn't type it clearly enough, but I meant if it becomes one. besides, even if it does, the N64 and GC were commercial failures as well, but they were great systems IMO

I will wait for third parties support first for many great games I really want then I will get one. For now, I am wise with my money thanks to Wii's failure due to no third parties support suddenly.

Congrats!

Enjoy the 3DS! The next couple of months will be pretty awesome (Star Fox, Mario Kart, Mario Land, etc.) and the Ambassador games. :yay:
