Getting blood taken tomorrow, what can I do to calm myself down?

I'm getting my blood taken tomorrow so I can get tested for, well, I don't remember what for exactly (it was multiple things though), and so we can find out what my bloodtype is. I get extremely anxious when it comes to getting a needle stuck into me for any reason whatsoever. Does anyone know of things I can do to calm myself down both before and while I'm getting my blood taken?

@leon315 Sorry for your life, man.

Those idiots that are stupid enough not to acknowledge they are not perfect are just ignoring their weaknesses and are unable to improve, and you are guilty of this.

I can take as much popcorn from the other side of the screen anyway, and enjoy this display your are putting playing that bully character that tells himself that he has overcome everything and has become perfect. Of course, if you are losing your time trolling in the internet it is only as escapism for the pityful person your are IRL.

In that regard, keep playing your character, if you believe this perfect character hard enough perhaps you become "perfect" and you stop being the loser that trolls in the internet to vent his daily life frustration... /s hahahahaha

Don't feel sorry about me, feel sorry about tc and anyone affected by this needle-phobia, I gave you the most efficient way to counter this phobia, judge it urself about its efficiency.

my humble intention was try help people in my free time, maybe I'm little rude, so no need to thank me :)

P. S. Since my health is nearly perfect, blood exams are just a VERY rare event for me, the last 2 times I went to local red cross point, my sights were entirely focus on the syringes while DRAINING my blood away, and im really enjoyed watching it. :)

I have had my blood taken on several occasions.

Here's how it will really happen.
1) Dont look at your arm
2) just wait for it to happen
3) It will sting for 0.1 second and then it's all over

There's no reason to be afraid or nervous for a a tiny sting :)

I'm 16 currently, and usually have to be restrained. I don't try to attack anyone, (I'd never forgive myself if someone got hurt) but I have tried to escape before. I've had the full workup every year since I was three. (I had lukemia, so they constantly test for signs Of both rejection of my current marrow and the returning of my old marrow) leon315, I kindly suggest you shut the fuck up. Having phobias doesn't make you a pussy. being an ass to other people about their phobias makes you a pussy. My time in the hospital has scarred me for life. I don't expect you to understand that, I just ask you to go and troll someone else instead of being a cunt to us about our phobias.

Be a Psychopath and realise that pain is just simply an electrical response to your nerve endings being stimulated. You feel no real emotions like fear or anxiety, you're just dead inside.

Or you could do what everyone does and smoke some weed. Or you can stop being a wuss and realise that it's over in a second.

If I can sit in a chair with a tube in my arm for 2 and a half hours straight every other month, you can get a blood test. I used to be afraid of needles too. Now I have to get them so much I've become desensitized...

I had phobia until my dog got diabetes and I had to inject insulin twice a day. I recommend you to put your heaphones with music (In my case was anime) and close your eyes

@GalladeGuy I've stayed with a needle in my arm for 7 hours straight. Went home at 1am.
Shittiest day of my life.

step 1: take a gun
step 2: shoot a hole in your arm
step 3: make them take your blood from that one

step 4 (optional): realize that you already lost your blood before they took it

It's not too scary, but you will feel a bit light-headed for a little while. Hey, I've had blood taken before and I'm still here! It hurts a bit, but it's for a good cause.

I had my blood tested, not donated.

I remember rambling about oranges afterwards for some reason.

Hey, you'll be fine!
