#firstworldproblems

So my parents like to take me on "vacations." (If you can call them that)
They force me to go with them on these trips to places I don't want to go.
Why? Because they think it's unhealthy for me to stay inside too long.
(Because apparently being an introvert is a disease)
So I went to this water park. Sounds fun, right? Not for me. I was tired and wanted to sleep the entire time because I could never get to sleep on the shitty hotel beds.
I could do nothing but watch Netflix or Youtube while tired for hours and everybody else was asleep.
That kind of horrible experience is not worth it just to ~hang out with the family~ or ~familee memoreez~
But my mom and dad just say "I'm being negative." "Look at the positive."

I'm very picky with beds so switching to a different bed is a death sentence to sleep.
I tried to tell my parents this would happen but they just say "You need to go outside" "You need to ~join the family~" even though I would rather be disappointed I didn't go than have a sleepless night at a place I don't want to go to.
A vacation for me would be to stay home.

I know this might be selfish or whatever but I don't ever go to public places. There's no reason for me to. I only know people mostly because they're my relatives. Not friends.
While food at a place can be nice I don't enjoy having these stupid small talk conversations with people I don't really know, and having nothing to do.

I'm 17 and my mom says I'm old enough to stay at home so it's not that lol
They only force me to go certain places occasionaly. (One of the arguments they use is they don't force me enough -_-)

I would really like to hear other people's opinions about this.
My mom says I'm becoming a "hermit."
Should I force myself to go outside and to public places more?
I'm shy and socially awkward so it's hard to talk to other people.

@Reecey This is a serious blog but that doesn't mean I'm not going to post joke comments.

I think I'm going to start a meth dealing business ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Gotta get the money somehow ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

@Margen67 I agree, yeah ok you do the meth lab over there, where you are cause that's very popular in the US and I will do the crack & heroin from over here. We could both start an international business together! they do say crime pays so lets roll with that idea! blog sorted "w"

yeah of course as well, jokes & piss take the plenty but still needs to be a serious discussion in between fun.

Yea, my mom is like that to some times too. I really don't have many friends, spend too much of my life on my computer, and bla bla bla.......... Any way, I understand where your coming from, you could try volunteering somewhere, you can say you are "out and about", meet some people, and get some thing to put on a job application. I volunteer once or twice a month and my folk are fine with me staying home the other 29 days(mostly).

Yeah i agree with @Konno Ryo I also know this isnt the place, but im not getting accepted into GBATemp.
Its been a few days now and i can still only reply to blog posts

You don't have to see other people if you go outside. Sometimes I just go on adventures by myself on a whim. Go to a museum, or a sports game, or a movie screening, or a festival, or the library, or the park, though it sounds like it's really cold where you are so maybe half of those are out of the question. But idk there has to be something you enjoy doing outside of your house, and it doesn't have to be with friends.

While i agree with you, my advice would be to just grin and bear it, it should be over soon, and you said it rarely happens.
Put on a brave face, tell them you're having a good time even if you're not, and when you get home, it's all over!
