I think Halloween is used as an excuse for girls to show a little TOOOOOO much skin.
Sorry Vulp, I'm gonna have to disagree with half of what you said.
Women shouldn't need to downgrade themselves just for the sake of some compliments from pervs or guys who want to stare. Actually, I find it a bit disturbing for guys to drool so much over women like that because you never know how far a guy will take it to get what he wants. Especially at parties or when they're drunk(Also on Halloween).

I saw a 46 year old woman dressed as Dorothy year before last and the dress was up to her crotch.
Scared the life out of me to see a former friend of mine dressed the same way... Skimpy outfit+298lbs= *runs away*

My best friend hangs a sign in his window every year saying 'Trick or Treaters will be shot'. His little sister stays at the window overhead to pelt anyone who dares ignore that warning with water bombs, normally filled with itching powder. The only ones who get any candy are those who are young, and brave the threat of death wearing a home made costume of special magnificence. Anyone who hired a costume or simply threw a sheet over their head and claimed to be a ghost, or anyone above age 8, gets pelted with itch bombs.

I think that's fair. Rewarding those who put the effort in, punishing those who use this 'holiday' as a means to get free stuff for no good reason.

At least you can relate to how I feel I suppose on the other 364 days of the year.
I like watching anime, and yet every time I mention it, I get the usual response, fucking pervert.
Yet I am the sort that think women should dress like women. Dresses and skirts. Not mini dresses and mini skirts. Real dresses and skirts that go below the knee.
But because I like anime, people think I'm a pervert all because in anime (which is a reflection of Japanese culture not surprisingly), they are not obsessed with showing nudity ie horrified by it like they are in North America.
I don't watch it for the nudity, in fact I wish they'd seriously tone it down.

I'm guessing you would have trouble with the average anime convention eh.

I think that you're just setting men up to a really low standard - most of us will be attracted to that image, and will try to talk to that girl, but it doesn't mean that, even while drunk, most if any (in a given group) of us would go further than that.

And you're right - women shouldn't degrade themselves for compliments. However, (other than the fact that I don't see how letting light reflect skin is degrading....just my own thoughts), it's fine if they want to do it because it's fun, they want attention, or they want to hook up with someone (sexually or non).

Also - it's a human body, be it fat, skinny, young, or old. I think a lot of people confuse the ideas of "not attracted to" and "disgusting". The only reason you view it as disgusting is because everyone else has since well before you were born - there was a fat naked man in my gym locker room, and while I sure as hell didn't enjoy it, it happens.

To be honest, I really don't give a shit about what a person is dressed like on Halloween. If you wanna dress like a slut, then go right ahead, serously is no skn off my nose.
Besides, just about every year I dress like a slut, more or less.

Heh, well in the past I wrote some reviews/recommendations of hentai.
Then shortly after writing this blog I realized I hadn't done it in a while, so I did it again.
But that's the hentai portion.

I can see the pervert response to watching anime.
Though that's not your fault.

All too often skirts and shorts get too short.

I also have like no costume-making skills.. I don't want to have to buy anything because I find it rather lame, and working on a costume all by myself seems rather boring.
