Exercise enthusiasts only please

So lately, I've been wanting to get back into shape, where I don't sweat so easily from little things. And no I'm not like a fat dude or anything, so don't think that. I just want to build up my stamina and what not. Only problem is,

now that me and my friend aren't on talking terms, using weights over there is out of the question. Same with going to the gym because I live a good 40 minutes from town without a car of my own.

So what are some things to do when I go exercise? I can go for jogs and runs. But what other sort of things can I do that don't require me to use any items, like squats or anything. Post some advice and what you recommend and what not.

I'm also trying to find some good playlists, I found a site, but going through it is going to take some time to pick out some songs.

Well about the songs part, when i workout i usually listen to rap or techno [like basshunter]. Can't help you on the workout part though cuz i always work with weights, but i guess you could try pushups[all you can do until you can do no more] or something. Hope this helps and good luck! :yay:

Running is one of the best exercise to gain stamina and such. Push-ups and sit-ups are also good.

You can try the Insanity workout. It doesn't require any equipment and you can do it in your room, all you need is the videos (and maybe a mat to prevent sweat from pooling on your carpet).

I'm not much of a enthusiast, but I've been trying to work out as well. Running or walking is always good. Doing a couple of sits ups or jumping jacks too doesn't hurt. That's what I always have to do in gym.

Running is alright, but it is a slow way to build up stamina. The best way to increase stamina is doing intervals of sprints and runs. The focus should be the intensity not the volume. A guy who does interval for 20mins will have a better workout than a guy who does an LSD (long slow distance) run for 40. This method is part of what is called combat fitness in the army. After I became a soldier it helped me increase overall fitness really fast.

Get a ripping one hour yoga dvd and a $5 mat. That's all you need to get a ton of stamina. There are yoga workouts that will destroy you like Bikram. Do the P90x workout, overall it's the best and all you need is a few cheap dumb bells and a pull up bar. You can find dvd rips of those easy. Overall that's the best workout available. Overall I think runners look like shit. You don't build muscle by running.

Haha... LSD... I need to get back into that Hackey Sack bit... I gained like 80 lbs. in a year not kickin' sacks around... Plus I'm less flexible... Hackey Sack is good for you all the way around... But as for Mister Original Poster, you say you can run and jog and stuff right... And you live a good 40 minutes out of town without a car..? is that to say that with a car you're only 10 or so minutes away from town? or are you 40 minutes away in a vehicle? If you're only a 40 minute run from the gym, I would suggest a run/sprint/walk/sprint/run/sprint/walk/sprint journey into town to the gym. Rest up and drink some water when you get there, then on to the weight lifting (which doesn't seem to do much for stamina without proper speed training)...

Get P90X!!! It's awesome! Follow the workout/eating routine, and you'll be in shape within 2-3 months !!

Man I should start dicking around with my hacky sacks. I did it all the time in school with me and like 10 other friends just keeping it going. I still have my original one which was perfect for hacky sacking.

hmm . . .
listen to fast paced music , go for a 10 -> 20 min jog everyday [keep it consistent , don't miss a single day !] at least once . if you can , do it early in the morning than sometime in the afternoon when the sun starts to set . that should help improve stamina .

for other exercises ,
consider doing at least 50 situps a day . it should help work out those abs , and you don't have to do 50 straight in a row . do something like , 25 situps , jog a lap around your neighborhood , come back and do 25 more situps .

all i can say is keep it consistent . even missing a single day of exercise can wreck your whole week .

If you're looking to gain only stamina, aerobic exercises and even using your body weight as weights (I forget the word to describe that) will work for a time. Eventually, you will hit a plateau, though, and will want to to step it up a bit. Unless, you know, 10 hour work out sessions are your thing.

If you're looking to bulk up a bit, or increase your strength, lifting yourself will only work for so long. No matter how much creatine, protein supplements you take, or how many reps you do, you will hit a plateau after about a month, and will need to move on quickly.
