0) I never finished the Legend of Zelda on the NES. It was primarily because my parents didn't want to support my gaming habit, and plus it took up the family television much of the time. I was exposed to it when my cousins bought it, along with Bubble Bobble for their system. I never played past the first dungeon because it was so terribly long and I rarely visited them. (Christmas/Summer...that's it.)
Also, we never figured out how to save with the second controller - it was die, and save during that. Thank goodness there wasn't any extra content unlocked with zero deaths!
* When the 3DS eshop got it, I snagged it immediately! Very fun, and very immense feeling.
1) The first gaming system I bought myself was the Gameboy Colour. It was for Pokemon Gold. I was working for my dad part time - we were selling clothing at a flea market. One of the other vendors was a video game stall, and he got new titles and systems in very often. I think I paid $150 for the system and the game.
2) The first game that really frustrated me was Contra 3, the Alien Wars. I could never get to the last boss even with support from a second player. God, that thing was awfully hard.
3) The first game that I found a secret in was Ultimate MK3 for the SNES. I had brought it over to another cousin's house for a gaming treat, and I just remember that my aunt and uncle were shocked at how much violence and blood were in the game (and this was without anyone doing a fatality). It happened during a two player game, and if I remember correctly, it was some sort of invisible random select. To this day, I haven't seen it duplicated.
4) The first game that I ditched school for was North and South for the old 486 computer. It was in 7th grade that I discovered this game, and I ended up playing for the entire day. The next day was a school day, and I feigned getting sick - a stomachache to get back home early to play this game. I still feel guilty about doing this.
5) The last physical copy of a game I bought was Heroes of Ruin for the 3DS.
