Dying HDD w/ osu! creepypasta

Today I woke up, wanting to play osu! after oversleeping for a total of roughly ~11hours. I thought that a good ol' COFFEI will help me wake up properly and get rid of the headache I was having. I drank my COFFEI and went up in my room to turn my PC on. Because I left my lappy in Austria (because it's heavier than the rest of the contents of my luggage) I had to use my PC to play osu!. When I wanted to turn the PC on, it didn't turn on... it turns out I forgot to plug it in (note: I always unplug stuff before I go out for a longer period of time). After plugging the power and the periplerals in, I was finally able to turn it on.

I proceeded to log in, and after every process has loaded and the CPU usage has calmed down, I went ahead and started osu!... except it didn't wanted to start!

Well then... I know there's a bug where if you unmount and remount an external drive all desktop shortcuts pointing to that drive will have this problem, so I decided to start it manually from its directory... except it still didn't start!

Well WTF?! I thought "the MZexe header must be corrupted or something"... and sure it was!

PNG?! It's weird how the exe has its original size, yet the exe turned into a PNG >_>
So then I renamed the file to "osu!.png" and tried to open it with LogoMotion

This is a very bad sign... uuuh... let me try a shitty image viewer then which doesn't care about anything

The moral of the story: protect your HDD from everyone, including yourself, otherwise those fuckers who always nail a kick on your luggage where your HDD is will destroy your precious data, including most of your 3DS projects... now I'll have to lay back in bed because I'm feeling very dizzy for some reason.

Or you could just ditch HDDs completely in favor of SSDs so you don't have to worry about such damage.

@Minox But that's the reason I'm using HDDs! I have HDDs which are older than me and have no corruption whatsoever... and I have quite some flash devices which are corrupted beyond usable, so I lost trust in flash devices in quite some time, hence I'm using HDDs. Yesterday on the train drive many people kicked my luggage exactly where my HDD was, and I think that's what damaged it. Some were running at quite a speed, so that may have damaged it even more

That's cool'n'all, but can I have a copy of that Nokia PC Suite? I have a broken phone, thought a FW reinstall might fix it, but couldn't find PC Suite anywhere.

@Shadowfied: Since when did you need 16TB in a mobile device? And since when did they start making 16TB 2.5" HDDs?

When using a mobile device it only makes sense to use something which mitigates the risk of impact damage.

@Minox it's an external HDD, not a mobile device... the HDD in my old lappy is already around 79% last time I checked :P

An external HDD you bring with you is still somewhat of a mobile device don't you think? :P

oh that! yes it is :P but I'm surprised it can't handle being kicked while not powered
