DS is more hardcore than PSP.

Lets see here. Majority of you fucks think the PSP is more "hardcore" than the DS. But think about the games for a second.

DS has CONTRA 4, SMT: Strange Journey, Devil survivor, Knights in the nightmare, Castlevanias, Henry Hatsworth, And Etrian Odyssey.

It also has those BLOOD N GORE FOR MATURE GAYMURS. Dementium, Theresa, and Resident Evil 1



The hardcore games for the PSP: DJ Max, Castlevanias, Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the lions, Jean D'arc

Blood N GORES games include God of War, Assassin's creed




From Metacritics, that's all. So much for hardcore games.



EDIT: I'm not saying the DS is substantially better. All I'm trying to explain is, how is the PSP considered much hardcore, while in comparasion, it has a small amount of "good" games to offer at all. How is it more hardcore then? There were good posts on the thread, but not enough to be convincing.

Also, Crisis Core is horrible.

PSP is way better than the DS when it comes to hardcore, and you can't look at the games only. The hardware is way more hardcore (sorry, Nintendo consoles aren't hardcore, they are family style - take the Wii vs PS3 for example).

Hardcore portable games /need/ good graphics, and the DS does not excel here compared to many PSP games of the same genre that are decent.

But if you want real hardcore, get a PS3 or X360 and you'll be very well served. If you want family interaction, get a Wii.

I have both consoles but I consider the PSP a more mature console than the DS will ever be. DS has amazing titles, more than the PSP, but if we're talking hardcore, you can't beat the former.

Just wanted to chime in and say that FF: Tactics on the PSP is terribly gimped because of the animation slowdowns.

I agree, DS is more hardcore. People just look at it and see oh Nintendogs and Mario and Imagine games and immeaditely class it as a casual console for kids under 10. PSP has hardcore games as well, but so what if its hardcore? Dantes Inferno, SOCOM, Assassins Creed Bloodlines are all meh. Theyre not very good, which is what matters most. And what would you guys define as "hardcore"?

Agreed, "hardcore" is too vague.

I have a hacked PSP and a DS and I must say that lately I've been using the PSP more (possibly due to novelty factor as I only recently got it) I am enjoying all the FF games available (seriously having FF:Dissidia, Crisis Core and FF VII VIII and IX in my hands is AWESOME) and the other games are pretty good too. Graphics are always a plus and so is the nice big screen.

As for my DS, it is still fun but I've run out of interesting games to play. Can't get into anything decent on it at the moment, it just depends on your state of mind which one you prefer at any given time I guess.

Cause the DS would suck with the distant fixed camera perspective and amount of enemies. Low Res+Low specs = No Go

The PSP has virtually no games compared to DS................unless you count JRPG's, which the DS matches well enough

Of course, the PSP is a good PMP and emulator device, but that's about it
