Down the MC Mod rabbit hole...

So... I started playing around with making mods for Minecraft. I made one after some fighting and learning and sleepless nights, and then published it. After that, I made 3 more. Then I decided "I should make a modpack and put my mods in it alongside other cool mods." So then I added over 150 mods all together and tried to play it... What a nightmare! I then spent weeks tweaking and reconfiguring everything and testing things. Now it runs great! So I then went and played through for another couple weeks and tweaked a little more. I built a cool city with functioning factories and a public transit rail system... but it was only me. What next? A 10GB Extreme server from Pebblehost. So I set it all up and got everything loaded and running smooth and have been playing with it for months now and have had several other people play as well. More tweaking and fighting... Now it's running smooth as silk. Now I am opening it up and advertising the server on reddit. I have a few steady members, but I want more people! Then I think "How much would it cost to advertise the server on these list sites?" and check in to it. HAHAHAHAHAHA! $3500 USD a month? Ummm, no.

Anyone want to come check out my server? Discord is at: https://discord.gg/edH9VsbyeS. Come see some of my hard work and have fun doing crazy things in Minecraft.

3.5K to advertise?

Either that was a "wonder if they are stupid enough to pay it" or "go away" price or seems someone is onto a winner.

i find that it's very hard to get into modding minecraft. the community is very uninviting to new things i feel. i used to do it myself but every time i attempted it, my mods were taken down because "they weren't good enough", despite me having put a massive amount of effort into them

given my first public version of the mod was very basic, however i was about to release an update that added like 30x the amount of content it started off with before the mod ended up being taken down, maybe i should've just waited a bit to release the mod than just reserve an upload spot to have my name out there
