Discovery!

I opened my backdoor for the first time in a week, and i spotted a cat lying on our deck. It looked like he was enjoying his day as i got closer i saw the eye sockets were missing something... Eyez :wtf:

i told my mom and we investigated. At first we though someone shot it, because it looked like there was a big hole in its ribcage, buuuuutttt it was a rotting nipple :wtf:

so we put it into a bag with my dad's help, we are going to call animal control so they can pick it up.

anyone ese had something like this happen? :(

We (my brother and I) had some kittens born under our front porch. There were 3 of them. We were feeding them and even built a little shelter for them. They were friendly with us. We had one picked out that, once it was weened from its momma, we were going to take it in. Unfortunately, the one we chose got mauled by 2 dogs. I came home just in time to see two dogs (2 show dogs *huskies* from somewhere in the neighborhood that occasionally get loose) tossing the poor little kitten around. I didn't even finish parking my car, I slammed it into park, jumped out of the car and shooed the dogs away. But it was too late, when I got to the kitten, I saw it twitch twice and then lie still. The momma cat was watching from under the porch and was wailing terribly. It was quite a sorrowful time. The really sad thing about it was that the 2 dogs weren't violent dogs, they were just playing and are actually quite friendly, but they still killed the little kitten. They didn't even break the skin of the kitten as there was no blood to be seen on it anywhere. We buried the little guy in the back yard.

We ended up bringing in one of the other kittens. She was sickly when we brought her in, but she is healthy and playful now. Her name is Spot. She is so named because she is a black cat with one white spot on her neck, hence the name. The 3rd kitten still hangs around the neighborhood. I understand that an old lady across the street has been taking care of him. He's a fluffy tan tabby.

We haven't seen the momma cat for quite a while now. We assume she has relocated....at least we hope that's what happened to her.

Very morbid! Well thats a horrible way for a little kitten to go, death by play =(

Well god go easy on its poor soul ^_^

It's a bit different from your tale,
but when moving the old stove out of my house, my dad and I opened up the box concealing the power cord's hookups to the stove.
Hanging with one paw on the negative terminal, and one paw on the positive, was a field mouse, pretty well mummified in a trapeze artist's pose.

o.o

In retrospect, I wish I'd kept him.
Imagine the possibilities for amusing photography;
The Sorcerer's Apprentice.
Mouse on a motorcycle. (apehanger handlebars, of course)
the list goes on.
