So i just got a dsi with an r4 but i'm honestly thinking of just, going with cfw instead of the r4, apparently it has a lot of limitations, stuff like gbarunner2 doesn't run nearly as well and you're restricted to dsi backups only, i like to go wild on my homebrewed consoles so these limitations are just kinda eh, it's enough to make me consider it

Update: im doing it, one question tho, should i buy a new sd card or use the one i'm currently using on my r4?

is it feasible to just make a backup of your r4 content and then re-purpose it? no point in spending money you don't need to when p*racy is likely a goal right?

I mean, i dont really care about piracy (if i did i would've just stuck with the r4) it's mostly hb that can't be played on r4, gbarunner2, etc etc

i've seen mods make direct references to piracy before—i think you're just not allowed to namedrop or provide any resources. guides and mentions for sx os are still around, and you were even allowed to provide relevant files up until they introduced copyrighted content into their loader.

anyway, for your original question, i'm sure you would be able to use your current sd card if it's got enough space and you make backups.

Ohh that makes sense, i didnt know how strict it was so i didnt wanna risk anything, anyways ty i'll use the r4 one so i dont have to wait until a new one gets here

@Kris_CL The site is very much pro-piracy, not sure what gave you the idea that it isn't :P
They just can't legally allow warez links and stuff like that because it would get them in trouble and they want the site to stick around.
GBAtemp started out as a ROM site FFS. That's where the name from. GBA=Game Boy Advance, temp=temporary, it used to host the latest 10 GBA releases.
