Depression came to visit today

I was setting up the projector to play a movie. Tomorrow is my daughter's birthday. As I was tinkering with the sound system, I was overwhelmed with a sensation of uselessness, like if I am a defective part that has to be discarded and all of a sudden there I was again. There.

I hate myself sometimes. Mostly always, anyway.

Take notice. Depression never goes away. Either if you take medication or not, it is a life long battle. Who wins is anyone's guess.

oh sorry, to hear that, i had 2 dogs too in my childhood! Guess is it time to stop thinking the past and move on?

I appreciate this was posted a couple of years ago but wanted to just agree with what you said..... it simply never goes away, it can hide very cleverly in the background even disguising itself as some mild anxiety and then BOOM! that shit it back.

I've struggled with it off and on for the best part of 35 years, the meds do help to a degree but I just want to be free of them as they feel like an anchor around my legs dragging me down.

I hope life has you on the up now, sending peace your way

Psychotropic pharma products are not meant to cure a depression, but to deal with the symptoms.

What I personally would do is check if the underlying system is working properly, starting with the microbiome.
