Definitive tutorial on how to create border textures with the same quality as the official Nintendo themes - Extras

I'll be explaining how to create borders using images and how to create punctures at the borders. These explanations will allow you to create the following types of border.

The inflated shadow effects used at the borders shown in the images above are available in the first part of the tutorial. Click here to access.

In this tutorial I will be explaining how to use texture images to create borders and how to perform perforations in autoforms.

Note: I will not explain again the effects and methods used in creating these textures, read the first part of the tutorial.

How to create border texture using images.
I'll be explaining how to create a basic border, to create this kind of border you will need an image. I suggest you use a very large image so that the quality of the border is good.

In this tutorial I will use this image to create the border texture.

I chose this texture because the effects explained in the first part of the tutorial will appear more easily.​

Creating border in size 48px

Open the border-48px.psd file, enter the desired image. Position the image above give layer BG-1, then disable the white icons of the Mask-1 and Mask-2 layers (see the icons marked with X).

Enable the tabs to verify that the image is positioned as shown in the image above.

Activate Masks Mask-1 and Mask-2 again (The icons that were with x).

Activate and Edit the effect available on the Mask-1 layer, you should put the shadow effect with the same color gives texture with a darker tone.

Perform the same procedure with the Mask-2 layer. Remember to put the color of the layers bg-0 and bg-1 with the same color gives texture with a darker tone.

Creating border in size 38px

Open the border-38px.psd file, go to the border-48px file, go to the Mask-3 layer with the shifth key pressed click on the white field to activate a cut selection. Then select the image layer that is above gives layer BG-1 and press control + J.

Convert the duplicate layer to smart object.

Drag the layer that was converted to the border-48px file's intelligent object into the border-38px file.
Activate the tabs and resize the image to the exact size.

Duplicate the layer as shown in the image above then select all duplicate layers and convert to Smart Object.
Note: You must perform the Duplication procedure to remove transparent dots that appear in the image after resizing.

Copy and paste the shape attributes and layer styles of the Mask-1 and Mask-2 layers of the border-48px file. The data copied Mask-1 layer should be pasted on the border-1 layer, repeat the same procedure with the Mask-2 and border-2 layers.
